Ronald Reagan died today. More than any other president I'd say he shaped my opinions on the world and my point of view on things. Probably because he was president through my main developmental years. There's so many things that can be said about him that've already been said by people more elequent than me. I'll leave it with just saying that he'll be sorely missed.

I have a new toy, and it's quite possibly the most detailed Transformer I've ever owned. ( It's 20th anniversary Optimus Prime ) It will also be what I take to get signed by the original voice actor of Optimus Prime in 2 weeks.

This weekend was uber-productive. Teresa and I cleaned and reorganized my bedroom, kitchen, and living room. The kitchen just got a decent cleaning, it wasn't that bad to begin with. My bedroom has been so full off crap everywhere, I've been living on my futon in my living room. Teresa got me a bookshelf and once the sheets and stuff are back on the bed, I can sleep in there again. We also moved my rug into there from my living room. The living room got a rug I got a few months ago from my mom's boyfriend, and general cleaning. Now I have the dining and computer rooms to clean and I can have people over again. Tonight we're cleaning Teresa's apartment though since a maid's coming in a few days to clean. Yeah, I don't understand women either. :)

sigh...if you're doped up on headache medicine and get what seems like a great idea at the time, don't do anything about it until the medicine's worn off. The local computer support radio show is going syndicated and on his website he asked for some help with some things, and what I meant to send him was some ideas, but now I see I was offering help. I hope I can get out of this with minimal problems. That's what I get for using the computer right after waking up from a 3 hour nap due to a migraine yesterday. I'm just feeling really stupid right now. I don't know why, except for that stupid e-mail thing and banging my head on an open cabinet door (right on the edge) this morning. I'm sure my head's bleeding some and I've felt a nice sized knot. I just wanna go home, but I'm stuck here at work, dealing with ID 10-T and PEBKAC problems.
Get ready for another few days of rain because I'm feeling gray today. bah.

I finally got a coffee grinder! After months and months of looking at different ones I finally got the one I thought was unobtainable. I didn't want a cheapo one because I wanted to grind different coarsenesses without just grinding it longer. I also wanted one that would grind into a second container that'd be easy to dump into my coffee maker. I've seen this one at Kohls and other places for a while and liked it but figured it was way out of my price range. However at Goldsmith's tonight we saw it on sale from $149.99 to $129.99. I had a $100 gift card from my birthday last year that I was wanting to spend, and I also saw that there is a $30 mail in rebate. That pretty much settled it. I got the Metallic Chrome model for $42 and change and will be getting $30 back so I'll have just paid tax. Not bad for a grinder that retails for $179 from the manufacturer!
And since when is making me use my debit/check card as a debit card instead of a Visa "bettering my customer experience?" I use it as a Visa everywhere and don't like entering my ATM code at stores unless it's at an ATM. It just doesn't feel comfortable to me and my credit union prefers we use it as a Visa. Goldsmith's has a new policy though that requires debit cards be used with the PIN now. Guess I won't be going back if I'm not using a gift card now.

That was so fricking unfair tonight. The referees in tonight's Grizzlies game were so biased that the "you suck refs!" chant from the crowd was very clearly heard on the TV. The Griz tried their best, but couldn't pull it off with being outnumbered 8-5. Great Season, congrats on that. To the NBA, their refs (well all refs in general), and to the remaining NBA playoff teams: "Screw You." Basketball is done for the season as far as I am concerned. I'm tired of seeing both my teams (Tigers and Grizzlies) being screwed over by the refs when it counts.
131 days until kickoff of the Tigers football season. I might go see some Arena football to bide my time. But as far as the rest of the NBA playoffs I couldn't give a crap as to who wins.

Round trip ticket to LA - $288 BotCon registration and shirt - $51 Ticket to Dodgers game - $6 Finally meeting an online friend, possibly meeting the voice of the original Optimus Prime and other voice actors and fans, and seeing a game in Dodger Stadium. - Priceless
It's very possible I'm going to get to BotCon, the original Transformers convention, in LA this June. A friend in LA has pretty much convinced me, and it's not going to be as expensive as I had thought. There's 3 things I've ever wanted to go to California for...seeing TechTV in San Fransisco, going to a Dodgers game, and BotCon. This will scratch 2 off that list. I'm really hoping I get to do this.

a bit political, feel free to ignore if you're not an evil conservative like I am. |

Behind the cut is an e-mail I just sent to nationally syndicated conservative talk show host Glenn Beck. I subscribe to his "Insider" program to be able to listen online and have other perqs like priority e-mail.
( This is the first e-mail I've sent using it. )

busy busy busy! I had 3 meetings today, 2 were back to back and across campus from each other. And it was raining. I like the rain though, so it's ok. It was an absolute beautiful day IMHO. =)
I have tomorrow off and will be trying to get $5 tickets for tomorrow night's Grizzlies game when they go on sale at noon.

We saw the coolest thing at Garden Ridge today. Over by the fountains they had what I thought was a dry ice fountain, but it's a humidifier fountain with a light in it. I have been thinking about getting a humidifier anyway, so I might get it next month.

I found a LJ client that's an extension in Mozilla. It's got a good interface too. It can run in the sidebar or as a window. Mozilla Firefox 's becoming my all-in-one application now. I have a RSS feed reader and now a LJ client both available from a toolbar button.

I ended up leaving right around 11:30. Shortly after getting home I promptly got sick and went to sleep. I've been in and out of sleep since then and just woke up in time for the Grizzlies game tonight. I really wanted to be there, but watching it while sick and on my futon will have to do. My head's still killing me and I think I'm going to have some Cream of Chicken Soup (mom's miracle soup for when I'm sick) in a little bit. go Griz!
