Wow. Another whole month has passed us by. We completed the server and host move successfully and we are now up and running again. In other news, musically, I've been writing some stuff in general. I'll decide to where they go when the songs are a little more coherent. I know that I have a couple of Winding Path tracks in there and one or two for the other (as yet unnamed) project.
Recently, I heard the end of one of the all time great modern rock stations - 99.1 WHFS. The owners (infinity broadcasting) decided that it would be a "good" idea to do a format switch to Spanish language broadcasting. Granted, 'HFS had not been good in years (I don't know - they started to suck about the time that Infinity bought them). I miss the old, good 'HFS. To this end, I started pondering internet radio. I got some great recommendations from friends and I have been exploring those lately.
I have a couple of other tricks up my sleeve and I'm working on something I hope you will find cool.
More soon.

Just a quick note. We have pulled Lullaby down for the moment. We plan on posting a new track from The Winding Path in the next couple of days. I'll post a note when the link is active.
Thanks again and Marry Christmas!

I don't know that I mentioned it, but Shauna and I are thrilled with the response to this years Christmas carol. We really enjoyed pulling it together and are more than pleased with the response to it.
Thank you very much and Merry Christmas!

Hello all, Matt here. My God, am I slack. You might think that I would not go months without updating this website, but apparently I have. For that I apologize. But you knew that.
Christmas time has returned and once again those of us in The Winding Path got together did what we do best. This year, as our present to you we recorded our version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. True to form, we feel like we have done something interesting and enjoyable with the traditional form of the song. [gifts from the previous years are available in the downloads section] We hope you enjoy this carol, and may you find peace and happiness this holiday season.
A note about the players on God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen:
I wanted to thank Shauna, Jen, and Ben. They made this whole thing a blast. Extra thanks to Jen and Ben for playing their instruments so beautifully and their help with the horn arrangements. Thanks to all three for bringing their expertise to the table and working to make this the best we could. I don't know that I can say it any clearer than that. Thanks so much for being cool.
As always,
Matthew Messenger
P.S. If you have a second - let us know what you think of it
Thanks!

Hello all, Matt here. Wow! It's been a while between updates. We've been busy in the winding path and depressoboy camps. School, Real Life, all that Jazz. But now it is summer, and the return of the sporadic update!
I've been busy writing new music for the winding path and some Arriviste stuff, not to mention school and family life. Shauna has been busy with school and her life. We plan on getting together and hopefully banging out some new songs to complement/complete last year's summer sessions. I'm looking forward to it, and I believe she is as well.
Anyway, I have decided to post another track from last year's sessions here on the website. Click here and view all of our lovely downloads! The new track, Lullaby, fits right into the style of what shauna and I seem to create.
As always,
Matthew Messenger

Merry Christmas! you'll note the db sno flake is making a repeat performance this year... I promised Matt I'd make logos for each season. 1 down! Anywho. MP3.com just got sold/bought and who knows what will happen to the service. So it has been decided to try hosting some on this site. Now be kind. Matt is poor, otherwise he'd pay me and I'd get more work done. Therefore, we can not afford for the downloading to get too out of hand. I forget our current limit on file transfers but needless to say it's not huge so if a friend wants a copy of the music... email it to 'em!
Happy Holidays

Wow! I've only been promising Matt a new site design for... 6 months now? Well whatever it's here. It would have been completed a lot sooner but...
Truly though this has been a great project to work on and the fun never ends! I actually have been creating some artwork for the various artists which isn't up on the site yet but will be up later this week. The same goes for some desktop wallpaper I made which will be available in the downloads section later this week as well. Now I can finally work on my own site which, if depresso boy is any indication, will be done some time next century. Visit it then! In the mean time bug Matt to sell something, then you buy it, and then Matt can give me stuff! :)

News from the winding path..
(OH the pun, it was so clever.) This is Shauna, from The Winding Path...and Matt and i are wending our way toward completing an album one of these days. We have more time constraints than we'd like -- since summer is over, i'm back at school full time, and Matt is juggling his "real" job, family, and being a part-time student...as if having a 19-month-old isn't time-consuming enough. When time allows or breaks coincide, we'll have an early Christmas present for everyone [though feel free to get all Christmassy right now with our rendition of Carol of the Bells from last year!].
"Is she just rambling?" you wonder. Well, yes and no. i figure we have some news that is downright newsworthy. Though work on our album has been forcibly slowed due to circumstances like...life, we wanted to let everyone know that two of our songs from this summer are streaming at our mp3 dot com site. perfect [worlds colliding] and lullaby are both products of our "let's try to get together at least one day a week this summer" sessions, wedged in around differing work schedules and family obligations. Matt and i were both really excited when our songs started getting stuck in people's heads -- we figured we must be doing SOMETHING right! [And just for clarity's sake, sex toy will probably never be on a TWP album. While it's technically a TWP song by merit of being performed by us, it was more of an experiment than anything else. Though its sound gave us new and interesting direction, it no longer fits in the style of what we are creating, nor does it say what we are now saying.]
At any rate, please listen to what we're offering these days and let us know what you think. Any and all feedback is appreciated!
Thanks, and we hope you enjoy. :]

depressoboy records has decided to make available for download Arriviste's current release "Reflections". Starting today and running for at least a week, you will be able to download the entirety of Reflections in its mixed and final form. Some of these songs have previously been available on MP3.com, in a minimal or reduced edit, but no longer.
I hope you will all take advantage of this opportunity to hear the final versions of these songs.
Reflections is a more diverse album than Arriviste has produced in the past, including guest vocals from [depressoboy artist] The Winding Path's Shauna Kreidler on track 8, "final."
The album is available in the download section on this site. Please use the button on the left to begin downloading. We only ask that once you have had a chance to listen to the album, that you please send your thoughts and comments to Arriviste@depressoboy.com.
We appreciate your support.
Thank You,
Matthew Messenger

Due to a change in MP3.com policy, from 1/15/03 forward, independent artists are only permitted to host three tracks apiece on their MP3.com sites. In complying with this, depressoboy artists will each have three tracks available. While we disagree with MP3.com's policy, we will continue to keep music available on the respective artist pages, and will be rotating the artists' songs for the broadest exposure possible.
Thank you,
Matthew Messenger
