Well, Dave and I have been talking about the recruiter stuff. We find out if he's been accepted on the 1st. He'll have to go to San Diego for 7 weeks if he is. But thats okay, because for the past 2 years we've had a long distance relationship and will continue to be on till he gets here Oct 20th, then we'll both be going to our new home at where he is in PI. But we've been talking where he would go if he gets the recruiter job, but we've both decided we'll talk about that more after the 1st.
I'm getting ready to start packing, it's exciting and sad all at the same time. I just can't wait till he gets here on Oct 20th. Then after the wedding for our families I get to go down there and see our new home. He's not telling me anything about it, it's a surprise for me.
Everything is going great though. =)

My boy took the AFOQT this Saturday, I hope he did well :)

He's in AF ROTC at NMSU right now, and he's going to boot camp next summer and graduating Spring 06.

Oh, and I love him so much. He hates wearing uniforms but I think he looks very handsome all dressed up. Maybe I have a thing for guys in uniforms? lol.

I just bought stamps with my picture on them to send on letters to Andrew while he's out to sea. Shhh - it's a secret.

And I know some other girls who might be interested, so...

http://photo.stamps.com

They're real stamps. It's awesome. But kinda expensive. But I think it's worth it. :o)

And no dirty/political/criminal pictures. They have to be approved.

I found out about it from here - http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/article.adp?id=20040910084909990019

Yay! :o)

x-posted to a bunch of places... sorry. :o)

» Free Miles!

I don't know if anybody else has posted this or not, but while shopping last night I discovered a new promotion from Kellogg's cereals.  On certain products, there are certificates for 100 American Airlines miles, and if you send in at least 5 (you can send up to 50, but they have to be in increments of 5) you get 500 miles. Here's the website. What a perfect opportunity to try out the different products! ;)

Hey everyone...
I was just wondering if any of you guys have a significant other stationed in Mayport, FL ... especially any who are overseas right now...
» Hmm...I'm in a bit of a delemma here.
Okay, here's the deal...

My boyfriend is graduating from basic on October 15th. I want to fly up to see him, but I don't know if I have the money to do that right now. Have any of you been to an A school graduation? Are they more lenient about letting them spend time with families, or do they still have to be back on base by 8:30 or whenever? I'm thinking that I might just have to hold off and visit for that graduation instead, but I haven't really been able to find any info on A school graduations, only basic.

Also, what is life like during A school? I heard something about them having weekends off and such. Any info on that? I may just come up for Thanksgiving weekend or something, but I want to make sure that I'll actually get to spend some quality time with Bryan, and not just meet him for dinner or something.

Help!

P.S. - MAJOR Thanks to all of you who posted in my last entry with all the helpful advice! You were all very helpful. :)

» Important Question
Does anyone know about the Navy's deployments. Because my husbands parents just said that they heard on the news that the USS Lincoln's deployment is being moved to next month instead of early next year, and i don't know if i can eve handle that considering my husband is barely getting back from this little deployment in two weeks, and i just found out yesterday that i'm pregnant. I just wanted to know if anyone heard of anything...
» No news, good news?
Hi everyone,
I still havent heard from my marine sincen his last letter in April. In his last letter he said he will see me when he gets back. I am still writing him and sending him care packages. He is supposed to be coming back less than 2 months. Not sure what to think. I have hope and maybe I'm just getting ready to be a military wife (just kidding) anyways thanks for your support and I'll keep you all posted. Any comments appreciated!
» hotel help :)
Have any of you ladies been to a Navy graduation at the Great Lakes facilities? Bryan (my boyfriend) is graduating October 15th and I want to plan a trip up there, but I want to make sure that I don't get stuck in a crappy hotel (I want to feel comfortable staying/sleeping there). If you've been in the area and have any recommendations of a certain hotel, or even a horror story of another, please share.

Also, have any of you used websites like www.expedia.com? I was looking up flights/lodgings through there, and the prices seemed to be pretty reasonable, but if any of you have experiences with that as well, please advise. Thank you!

Hey guys... I need some advice!
This may sound silly but I live in Miami, FL so I'm kinda on the path of hurrican Frances right now.... I'm not sure if he knows anything about it yet but I don't know whether I should tell Jhonatan about this whole hurrican situation. I mean usually I would tell him all about it and even send him maps and stuff like that but I don't want to freak him out. Also his father and his step mother live in Miami and they have a 2 year old baby... so I know Jhonatan will be really worried about all of us. So do you guys think i should tell him all of this or should I not tell him and save him the grief??

I tried to get an appt for my son in the Peds clinic today because I think he has an ear infection. They are booked today and tomorrow, closed friday and monday, so when I asked what to do, they said take him to ER. I am not going to ER for a possible ear infection. This isn't the first time this has happened, pretty much every time I try to get him an appt they are full. A few times I've opted to go to ER just so I could get the medicine I needed, but thats insane to wait 3+ hours for them to possibly tell me that he just likes to play with his ears. So my question is, does anyone go to a civilian pediatrician because the military pediatrician is too overbooked? If so, how would I go about doing that and what does it cost? Thanks in advance.

» Ashworth College
Good evening ladies! I heard mention a few posts back about Ashworth College. Well, I am seriously thinking about enrolling there. All of you ladies with experience with this college, what did you think of it? And does anyone know how the Montgomery G.I. bill would apply to correspondence courses? Thanks!!
