Hey, Luis.... whatever happened to the picture of D & Blue on 4/11? I went to open it so I could save it (sooooo cute!), but it wasn't there. Can you re-post it?
Are you still thinking about coming out to visit? Email me, okay? Hope all is going well in Las Vegas!

My co-worker just read an article that said the government would soon start looking at library reading lists to see what kinds of books people are checking out. The idea is to catch potential terrorists and criminals by analyzing what they're reading (i.e., someone who's checking out books on how to make bombs, spy secrets, weapons, etc.)
She and I have differing opinions on this issue. Has anyone else read about this? What do you guys think?

You are discontent with life and with yourself. You wish it would all go away. In order to prevent spiraling down into a deep pit of despair, you have learned to become apathetic, letting the world go by as though you are not even a part of it. You need to learn to seek yourself and not dwell on all that is wrong with the world.
Your song is: Losing Time
Which degree of inner turbulence are you?

Yay!
which Episode II character are you?
Probably the greatest Jedi Knight of all. Like Obi Wan, you are wise and keep your feet on the ground at all times. You will not be outsmarted by anyone. You are always faithful to your friends. Be careful though, danger lurks around every corner - you could even be betrayed by those closest to you.

wow, livejournal is neat! I was bored at work today, so I played around with the settings, and discovered that I can set the text in my journal to Russian. So now when I log in, my journal options and that paragraph about "what is livejournal?" are all in Cyrillic!! yay! More language development for me!
Anyone know what the Avalanche/Sharks score is?

10:48 pm - Hockey
|
Well, unfortunately, the Sharks lost to the WILD, of all teams: 3-1. Marleau made the only goal for SJ... he seems to be doing quite well these days.
On the other hand, LA viciously killed Dallas, 3-0. Yea!!! Deadmarsh rules!
No matter who makes it into the playoffs, this year's post-season games will all be excellent hockey, I think. If anyone has extra Sharks tickets, let me know... I'm determined to go to one playoff game this year! After 5 years of trying.....;)
I just hope Audrey and I get tickets to see the last home game on Sat. Should be awesome!
Okay, back to preparing taxes....;)

So I know that praise for doing a good job with something is all well and good, but there really is such a thing as too much of it. I hear "thank you..." SO much at my job! I get thanked for answering the phone, calling people, sending a fax, changing a printer cartridge, getting a book, unlocking the doors, and setting the trash baskets outside. So far, I've only been at work for 4 hours today, and already, I've heard "thank you" about thirty times. It's really nerve-grating. I'd rather hear it less and have it be real thanks for doing an actual project or something. Somehow, when I hear it for something mundane like making a phone call, it loses its validity and special-ness. Rrrrrr....
Guess I'm just in a cranky mood today. I'm hungry and bored, and it's raining like mad here (it was so nice on Monday! What happened?). I've got a million more important things to do than be here, but I have to be here to get money. Such a vicious circle....
At least it'll be a good weekend. Lots of cleaning to do (parents coming in a week), will go to Monterey and game, do lots of laundry, etc. And next weekend is Easter and I'll see my family again.
And Audrey and I are seeing Dallas play on Tuesday! Will be a great game. And the Sharks WILL win!! I have decreed it!
If I can just get through the rest of the day....

Well, according to the D&D; character test: http://www.students.uiuc.edu/~ellingwd/dndwho/index.html
You Are A:
Neutral Evil Human Fighter Thief
Alignment: Neutral Evil characters believe in Number One. Their personal gain takes precedance over all else, and they will work with whomever necessary and whatever institutions necessary to further their own goals.
Race: Humans are the 'average' race. They have the shortest life spans, and because of this, they tend to avoid the racial prejudices that other races are known for. They are also very curious and tend to live 'for the moment'.
Primary Class: Fighters are the warriors. They use weapons to accomplish their goals. This isn't to say that they aren't intelligent, but that they do, in fact, believe that violence is frequently the answer.
Secondary Class: Thieves are the most roguish of the classes. They are sneaky and nimble-fingered, and have skills with traps and locks. While not all use these skills for burglary, that is a common occupation of this class.
figures!

Wow..... the city of Santa Cruz is just too much.... first they spend $83K of our taxpayers' money to put up the extremely ugly River Street sign, now they're selling it on eBay....
People are so silly sometimes....!
