Think about what cities or towns you've lived in (not just visited) in your life, and post them in your journal:
Randallstown, MD Huntington, NY Columbia, MD Stony Brook, NY (on campus) Columbia, MD Somerset, PA Stony Brook, NY (off campus) Columbia, MD Columbia, MD (TOR Apartments) New Albany, IN Silver Spring, MD (inside the beltway) Silver Spring, MD (Colesville) Columbia, MD (behind the ice rink) Rockville, MD Alexandria, VA (4 apartments to date)
I counted 'lived in' as a period longer than 2 months, thus discounting some of the places I've stayed at while doing archeology. Also, if it says 'Columbia, MD' without a modifier, that was my parent's house...same place each time. |

I created a new icon (gracing this entry). It's probably impossible to see, but given the original image I had to work with, it's not so bad. To be honest, I don't care if nobody else can understand what it says...this comic strip has amused me for years and I don't know why I didn't make one of these sooner.
Well, duh! |

Is there an indelible line dividing sanity from insanity or do they change, one into the other, at the slightest turn of events? We'll find out soon enough that the world itself is insane. Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
How about petunias? They're pretty without being presumptuous, they smell nice and in three days you just throw them out. Sound like what you're looking for? *pause* Sorry, we're all out of petunias. Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
Care for a little necrophelia? Brazil
Thanks to everybody who played, I really enjoyed that. It brightened my evening immensely yesterday. |

Movie Quotes Meme |

[ | Current Mood |
| | crappy | ] | ...because everybody seems to be doing it.
Step 1: Pick out 20 movies you love Step 2: Pick your favorite quote from said movies Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what movies the lines come from Step 4: When someone guesses correctly, italicize the quote and put the movie title after it, with credit to the first correct guesser.
Some of these aren't necessarily my favorite quote...but they are still quotes I like from movies I like. I've tried to avoid the obvious and I've tried to avoid using quotes with character names in them even so, some should be dead easy and others should be completely obscure. I'll be thrilled if people miss the easy ones but get the obscure ones. :)
Oh, and I really liked it when qranky hid the guesses so I'm going to screen comments on this post. ( Enjoy! ) |

[ | Current Mood |
| | annoyed | ] | If you phone me and ask for 'Bart' and I say 'I'm sorry, but there's nobody here by that name,' then arguing with me isn't going to magically make Bart appear. Whats more, 'But I have his cell phone number' is not, in fact, a valid argument as you apparently have the wrong cell phone number. Really. I am the only one here and my name isn't Bart -- doesn't even sound like Bart.
Oh, yes...and phoning back twice and hanging up doesn't make me any more likely to be Bart either.
I'm just glad that I was already awake when this yahoo called. If I'd been repeatedly woken at 8am because someone didn't believe that 'Bart' doesn't live here, I'd have been righteously pissed. |

| | nerdy | ] | My inner history geek knows no bounds.
I just brought home my new copy of His Excellency (Joseph Ellis' bio of George Washington) and I put it in an open slot on my bookshelf. It took me a moment to realize that I had placed it immediately to the left of John Adams by David McCullough and that that book was immediately to the left of The Life and Selected Writings of Thomas Jefferson.
I've accidentally been arranging my books in the order the subjects served as president.
What may be worse is, I realized this and thought it was funny. |
