3:56 am - Er..
Oh yes, also I'm using iJournal for MacOS X. Seems like a nice client. Any osx cats out there with one they like better? Out of morbid curiosity.. (probably not)

I love my laptop and the software it runs very much.

current music: Broadcast - 09 - Lights Out

3:41 am - Auditory
Hiya.. I got home tonight feeling strangely adequate, don't quite ask me why. Decided some relaxing music was in order (Must be the Bob Marley I slept listening to, and the classical I heard on the way to and from work, as well as the Ginseng I uncharacteristically digested). Mentioned what I was listening to on irc, and ended up trading a ton of music with somebody.. Joy, now I have groovy new tunes on my laptop to listen to at work. (This is good, you see, since the computer that has most of my music is both at home and has no free hd space)... Anyhow, will I get flogged violently by information technology capitalists for linking mp3s from LJ? Hmm.. I hope not (seriously, if these need to be taken down I'd like to know), because here's the hot tracks of the hour:

Blackalicious - Shallow Days
The Coup - Heven Tonite
(those are the two tracks that got the ball rolling, especially the Blackalicious... highly recommended)

Broadcast - Booklovers (Andy Votel Remix)
Andy Votel - Diode
Andy Votel - Kitten (My copy is incomplete, but if you like Massive Attack or Portishead style jive I highly recommend scoping out this track)
DJ Shadow - Tomorrow Never Comes
(Honestly, I don't know the name of that track.. it's 07 off his new album, The Private Press)
Cafe Del Mar - Everybody Loves The Sunshine
(This is a funky remix, homedude sent me the original one.. which is also great, but my wireless is freaking out at the moment. Sadly, it will not be posted here.)
Stereolab - The Emergency Kisses

Anyhow, hope your evening's tight and your morning's bright. Bedtime for me.

So, I don't post in here much.. (about once a year?). But I've decided that this jouernal is a good place for jive about politics and social/global affairs. This post is certainly an EXCEPTION to that ideal.

Somebody sent this to me on aim. Very silly, but since international stereotypes tend to get such applause...

5:01 am - From One Ground Zero to Another
So, I caught Democracy Now on the radio this morning. On the show was Rita Lasar, who's brother was killed at the world trade ceneter, and Kelly Campbell who's brother in law was killed at the pentagon. They just got back from a trip to Afghanistan, and described their visit. This is a very disturbing and moving piece of journalism. What I also found disturbing was the contrast between this and the way the war is being covered by television and commercial media (ie: these stories aren't being told at all).
You are welcome to give your opinion.

RealPlayer streaming audio of the segment can be found here, and an mp3 of the entire show can be found here.

4:15 am - Support Local Music please
Hiya, I just got back from the k-otix show at the engine room downtown. It was an awesome show, lots of local acts opened. I think I lost like 5lbs boogying. I went with my pals Jon Michael, Nosser and Vee. yeah, I like hiphop. anyhow.
oh yeah, I got a shirt while I was there, too.

Alkaholiks are playing a week from tonight. I hope I can afford to go to that.
peace, love ;)

9:03 am - lamer rhyme time
8:54am (roughly)... I really do need to stop staying up all night playing with web browsers, irc clients and nintendo emulators.
We just did a bunch of keystling on irc, that was kind of fun, even if it was all really lame.

(tamd) i got more beef than western cattle ranchers, i am hunted down
by fans and body snatchers, they're all upset cause i battle
with the kids, in a kangol hat, zcavaricci's, or skidz
(spinsane) dismantled like fireplaces in shanties/ oil barrels burning
newsweek from last week/ questioning yourself, then ask me/
answers to riddles, i'm balanced like middle/ i'll
challenge with pistols/ or pencils, sharpened graphite
claps tight/ write these raps tight, fill bodybags with
cracked mics/
(cmang) cause whenever I curise in h-town I'm in my car, just to walk
to get groceries is hella fuckin far, they're building light
rail downtown to ease the tension, I'd rather catch a train
than fuck up my suspension
(cmang) im not claiming rhyme skills, my claim is to observance,
everywhere I look I see 5mpg suburbans, and SUVs and pickup
trucks with Mason stickers, shotguns and oil drums and fools
with cotton knickers, cause the hemp industry got assfucked in
the thirties, the politics behind it like my drawers is hella
dirty, still the propaganda system backs the corporate
appetites, and politicians play along like cheap hoes in nappy
tights
(glass) WHITE BOYS RAPPING ON THE EYEARESEE/BUT NONE OF YOU
MOTHERFUCKERS ARE HARDER THAN ME/I'LL GO TO YOUR HOUSE AND
STICK MY DICK IN YOUR DAD'S ASS/THEN I'LL WIPE IT OFF IN YOUR
MOM'S HAIR/THIS DOESN'T RHYME/BUT I DON'T GIVE A FUCK

yeah yeah, we hardcore. don't step. (I was listening to a lot of geto boys and looptroop beforehand, I usually don't pick such foul and offensive words. really)

1:52 am - who said that I'd be blue.. if I fell in love with you?
I think I'm getting sick - I feel strange. Have all night, lightheaded.. strange taste in my mouth.. woke up crazy congested, maybe it's the claritin making me feel funky. I feel like I did some kind of irregular recreational drug yesterday (which I didn't). But, hearing some Bratmobile is making me feel better.

It's cold outside, freezing in fact (24f). it got down to 19f last night. Our water filter is frozen outside, so it isn't working at all. I haven't been drinking water today except from old bottles - I should go to the store and get some for the next few days (I tend to shy away from tap. little stuff floating in the water makes me less thirsty) and get some jugs. Hmm.

So, what's the deal with this livejournal faces club thing? you just put pictures of yourself on there? I'm bored, I've been playing Super Mario World on a snes emulator. Maybe I could play with my webcam and play with that.
Alright, I think I'll go now. (wee, that was pointless)

7:24 am - Oh yeah..
Hiya, I just typed all this and accidentally lost it. So here goes again. :)
I took a bunch of pictures of what I got for Christmas on christmas day, with the intention of posting them here for everyone to ignore. we left for Atlanta the next day, didn't get home till the 30th. I won't go into the trip, but here's what I got..

Ok, this isn't new, this is my old basketball. NBA "Youth Size," I've had it for years and years.

This is my new basketball, NBA Super Tack. It's way cool. My parents rule. It feels great. It's neat.

This is the coolest gift of them all (besides maybe the basketball), it's a cd/mp3 player. It has a filename-scrolling display and everything. yay. Also it came with a car kit. No more bad clearwater drivel in the car for me.

These are really awful pictures of the black leather jacket my parents got me. I'm not into sporting dead animals at all, but it is a nice jacket.

And finally, this was in my stocking. Doesn't my mother have the most exquisite taste? Two words: Dollar Store.

alrighty, that's all, hope everyone had a nice holiday.
