stars were awesome as always
the organ are the most dull live band since I don't know when.
I had not seen the wooden stars play in almost eight years, I felt like I was dating myself.
montag was not for me.
I now have a laptop at work and a snazzy new e-mail, that I am not sure is set up or not. However, eric.warner@v2music.com
I go to concerts everyday and lack sleep inbetween. | Wednesday, April 13th, 2005 | 9:54 pm |
of montreal my Of Montreal show is sold out, with extremely limited tickets at the door, if any. This is a good sign to me as it is the over the top fest pre-party. It also sucks, as this show could get another two hundred people out. | Tuesday, April 12th, 2005 | 1:45 am |
thank you again and again I just wanted to thank everyone and anyone who has supported my pursuits of music over the years, especially with my festival as of late, it really means the world. I know I tell people this kind of stuff all the time, but it really does mean a lot. I use livejournal to write about random occurances and to keep linked to friends who have moved all over for school or whatnot, and again, even when people are far away, the support is really meaningful.
the over the top festival is in just about three weeks, and I think this will be the year that breaks it to the next level. I am in the process of organizing everything that could be possibly need it. If you want to help run shows and handle things and have helped me before, as a lot is going on, let me know. For those of you who already talked to me, thanks again.
tonight josh and I saw brendan benson, who was really good. A band called The Stands opened, who were from England and although were pretty good, it was nothing new. It was nice running into random people though and only good things came of the evening.
goodnight. | Saturday, April 9th, 2005 | 12:44 am |
hung out with dogs die in fast cars tonight before/after their show at the opera house. went out for an amazing dinner with them, but with shitty service that ruined that. lots of alcohol consumed, I had gingerale. ran into many friends at the show, both old and new, which was awesome.
you'll be able to buy busy bodies releases in stores really soon, now that I am in toronto, I am finishing up my distribution deal.
I opened a new business bank account today.
two exams that I am not ready for are today, here's to hoping.
if anyone is going to: brendan benson, sylvie (new despistado band), exclaim party, sour keys/silent film soundtrack, shins or moby, we should hang out.
sunday = final essay/project to write + cooking.
sorry josh levitt for not making it to york, show ran late.
of montreal is probably going to sell out in the next few days, so buy tickets or scramble at the door to get one of very few. | Thursday, April 7th, 2005 | 11:19 pm |
finished unpacking at work today, waiting for phone + computers. listened to all sorts of cool music. hung out with scout niblett for a bit, took her to java, wish I could have gone to the show tonight, but school work = important. | Wednesday, April 6th, 2005 | 9:10 pm |
blarghhh new job is awesome, liking the location and everything about it thus far. Today we started unpacking everything. This weekend is crazy with V2 artists:
fri: dogs die in hot cars sat: writing two exams in waterloo sun: zap mama mon: brendan benson
everything is coming together for my festival, booked another venue today and dealt with one crisis, and have one more to deal with. Here's to hoping everything balances out entirely.
put the last of montreal tickets on sale, it will be sold out in the next few days for sure.
I need to put another two hundred blood brothers tickets on sale, they are going fast fast fast. | Monday, April 4th, 2005 | 12:46 pm |
OVER THE TOP FEST || 2005 the festival site is now up at www.overthetopfest.com - the only thing that needs to be added is individual bios/photos/web links for each artist, which I am compiling still. Rough set times will also be posted in the coming days.
I really am liking dogs die in hot cars. this friday = phoenix, dogs die in hot cars + some other band.
ALSO, for anyone who likes the chinkees, bruce lee band, skakin' pickle and other fun bands that mike park, who founded asian man records is and was a part of, he's playing in my basement in early july. | Sunday, April 3rd, 2005 | 10:55 am |
of montreal of montreal advance tickets sold out yesterday, meaning it sold forty-six tickets in under three days, which is nice. the last of the advance tickets will go on sale this wednesday, and there will be limited advance at the door. | Friday, April 1st, 2005 | 12:23 pm |
if you liked the band Not By Choice, would you allow them to sign your inner thigh? serious answers only please as this is to prove a point that is barely relevant. | Thursday, March 31st, 2005 | 1:59 pm |
over the top is adding three more shows, which will be intimate (50 capacity) and sell fast I think. for once, the festival is within a radius I could bike if I wanted. those shows will be posted later today hopefully.
I bought the new muffs record, I like it.
all my shows are selling really consistently, highlights include blood brothers, of montreal and the books.
I think this is the year, the defining year.
hard work.
if all goes well, my new band will be able to start playing in five-six months. first song has been written, more to come. | Tuesday, March 29th, 2005 | 6:09 pm |
I start work next Monday officially, but in office next Wednesday. I already have stuff to do with: dogs die in fast cars, brendan benson, moby and whomever else is coming through in the next little while.
