Gender-Liberal You scored 100% Gender-Abolitionist, 60% Sexually Liberal, and 20 % Socialist |
You are the Gender-Liberal. This means that you share qualities with both Liberal Feminists and Gender Abolitionists. Like the Liberal Feminist, you feel political change needs to be done on a small-scale level through legislative change, not necessarily through a massive destruction of class society through the adoption of an extremist socialist stance. You are also very concerned with sexual liberation, and feel that women should be free to do what they please sexually without criticism, just as men should be free to do. However, you differ from the Liberal Feminist culturally, because you see gender as a social construction that needs to be destroyed. Like the Gender Abolitionist, you realize that gender is often perceived as one's identity, when it should only be perceived as a small, insignificant part of that person. We shouldn't be able to say "This person IS a woman". Rather one should say something more akin to "This person HAS the physical traits of a woman". This way, we wouldn't be assuming someone's physical traits are a part of their identity, and we couldn't use this difference to oppress them or categorize them. In short, you advocate extreme cultural change through the destruction of gender roles, but politically you are less extreme, instead focusing on individual or legislative change as opposed to a massive change of ideology.
The other feminist types:
The Housewife
The Marxist
The Liberal
The Liberal Extremist
The Gender Abolitionist
The Radical
The Gender-Liberal
The Revisionist |

alright, so i was sitting in bed trying to get sleep and suddenly my mind wandered back to what i'll be doing monday night...watching S-K play on David Letterman, right?
then i was thinking to myself, "would dave chat with them after their performance?" to which i said back, "probably not." and then i thought about it again and argued with myself that "he might if enough people petition for him to do so..."
so i guess what i'm trying to say to everyone on this and similar lj communities is that hey, maybe we should petition for this to happen? i don't know...leave comments, think it over and see how you feel about it.
it's worth a shot in my opinion. |

i've been awake for just over 26 hours. can't sleep, as the norm. sucks to be me. but it would suck even more if i had to be you.
for some strange reason i have been wanting to cut my hair again. the shit grows back so fast. i just want to grab a pair of garden prune's and go to town. it wouldn't be the first time either. i once almost shaved all of the hair off my head with a razor. but i thought it would be better if i didn't concidering i would have no real way of ensuring that i wouldn't 'nick myself in all the blind spots.
there is nothing more empowering than cutting your own hair. can't fucking sleep. |

| | words and guitar | ] | I find the most interesting thing is that people don't think we see them. We'll have people come to 10 shows in a row. It's wonderful, they're always in the same spot in the front, and we'll say to each other, "Those guys were in the front again." But then if I'm walking into a club and I see them, I'll say "Hey guys!" and they'll go, "What? Oh my god, you noticed I was at the show!" I'll say, "You've been standing in front of me for eight nights! I know what you wore last night, and the night before." That's something that always cracks me up. I'm watching them just as much as they're watching me. -Carrie Brownstein
yeah, that's kinda weird.
somebody really needs to shut me up about this woman. fast.
i think it's becoming unhealthy for me to go on ranting and raving about her every ten minutes. plus it's getting really tiring having to come up with all the different, creative and smooth transitions from normal conversation into carrie-convo.
she is amazing tho. |

i think i may have taken a similar quiz in the past, but what the hell...
So you aren't famous yet, but you know you will be...you're Pre-Bikini Kill Kathleen Hanna
You write a 'zine with friend Tobi Vail called Bikini Kill and have thoughts about starting a band. You hang out with Kurt Cobain, and even spraypaint that he smells like Teen Spirit on a wall...inspiring the title for the now classic song. Watch out suckah...you're about to bitchslap everyone.

tyler asked if i'd like to paint a little easel. i thought, "sure, why the hell not" and found myself in the out-of doors on Taylor St. between Post and Geary with a dismantled roller a can of oxide paint and a couple of rags making a mess of things as only a frustrated female with no art supplies OR coffee can. well, i think i did one hell of a job all things considered; no paint brushes, tape, tarp, sink, sandpaper, so on and so forth. of course he doesn't tell me this before hand.
i swear i could start teaching a course of advanced fingerpainting for adults now. i'm totally qualified for it all.
oh yeah, and because the paint was an oxide red i was outside with all these crazy fucking people coming up to me and trying to sell my ikea furniture and reciting shakespeare at me and asking me how to get places or trying to get me to watch their cars. what a wonderful time i was having!
someone should pay me for the wonderful job i did.
and the sunburn on my back from working at noon in direct sunlight.
having fun, driving down to LA in a few more days if i can get tickets to see Sleater-Kinney at the Warfield Saturday. hang out with meli and grab lunch with her at Honda-Yu [bitchen japanese in Tustin] and then come back home to san diego that evening, just in time to catch Jury Duty MONDAY!!! god, i hate civic duties.
tomorrow's the Academy of Art tour. maybe sneak in a little Chinese, too. |
