Exalted Gods of Spacerock This Friday 3/24/06
Now this doesn't happen very often! Space rock guitar deity Helios Creed returns to San Francisco for a rare acidpunk pioneer reunion show with his long-since-dissipated former band, the legendary Chrome.
Completely unique and utterly ahead of their time, Chrome's persistently overdriven sound fused searing rock with a futurist psychedelia collage of found sounds, white noise, tape manipulation, and more super-sustained, distorted guitar effects than your ears have ever heard. Without a doubt Chrome was the band that made psychedelic music cool again in the early 80's and put the rock in spacerock
With a Helios Creed solo set and a full Chrome set this show is not to be missed!
Chrome & Helios Creed @ Annie's Social Club 917 Folsom St. Friday, March 24th

Bringing World Domination to APE AFTERMATH
You know him, you love him... he's Rob Osborne, the one man cartooning juggernaut of irrepressible talent, single-minded determination, and never-ending charm who has conquered the comic industry's hearts and minds with his unrelentingly entertaining works, Sunset City and 1000 Steps to World Domination, on his path to his larger goal, complete domination of the planet.
And now, the inaugural winner of the Isotope Award for Excellence in Mini-Comics will return to the site of his first conquest. Expect to see Osborne at APE AFTERMATH on April 8th when he and Daniel Merlin Goodbrey present this year's winner the coveted prize on the Isotope's new eight foot high stage.
Watch this space for more special APE AFTERMATH announcements to come...
In 2005 alone an estimated 5.75 billion dollars were spent by North American businesses on search engine marketing and optimization. The goal? To get their businesses to rank higher than everyone else on Google.
With that in mind, it's pretty incredible to see what results you get when you do a Google search on the word "Isotope." Ranked right behind the Wikipedia definition of the word and the worldwide leader in stable isotope separations? Not too shabby, especially considering our money goes not to search engine optimization... but advanced comic pimping optimization.

So, how did we get this enviable position?
That's the power of love, baby. That's the power of love.

Ennis + Robertson Equals Awesome
Since February the Isotope staff has been downright giddy waiting for the official announcement of the The Boys, a five-year magnum opus by two of our favorite industry giants... Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. From what we're told Ennis is as pumped up about the series as we are and from the previews we've seen it's pretty apparent that Robertson's art has never looked better.
The Pulse has the inside scoop on the series that's sure to be on the top of our "must read" pile through to 2011. Go check it out.
