TMZ has learned a detective from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department now has CDs of the conversations Oksana Grigorieva recorded.
We've learned the detective is assigned to the domestic violence part of the investigation. There are other detectives -- also present in court -- who are investigating allegations of child endangerment.
Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore tells TMZ, "The court released the audio tapes to our detective handling the domestic violence investigation. Those tapes will now be reviewed and analyzed by our detectives as well as forensic detectives."

One of the detectives who just showed up at the Mel Gibson/Oksana Grigorieva hearing just said he's there for one purpose -- investigating alleged child abuse.
Detective Dan Scott, who works for the L.A. County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau, just told a TMZ producer in the courtroom hallway, "We investigate child abuse."
Detective Scott is in the hallway with 2 other detectives, waiting to enter the courtroom.

TMZ has learned ... a rep from the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services just showed up at the Mel Gibson/Oksana Grigorieva hearing.
Oksana claims Mel hit her while she was holding their baby.
In addition to the Children's Services rep, we've learned a sergeant from the Sheriff's Department, Special Victims Bureau, has also arrived.

Vampire Weekend is being sued for more than $2 million by the hot chick pictured on the cover of their newest album -- because she says an impostor put her John Hancock on the consent form.
The model is Kirsten Kennis -- who claims she took the original photo way back in 1983 -- and had no idea it was being featured on the album "Contra" ... until after the band began to promote it back in November.
In a lawsuit, filed yesterday in L.A. County Superior Court, Kennis claims she thinks it all has to do with a "photographic release" that the band obtained from a photographer named Tod Brody.
Problem is, Kennis claims the signature on the release is a forgery. Kennis blames the band for not verifying the legitimacy of the release -- and is suing VW and the photog for more than $2 mil.

Janice Dickinson -- the self-proclaimed world's first supermodel -- has signed on for the next season of "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" ... sources close to the show tell TMZ.
We're told Janice decided to enlist the help of Dr. Drew Pinsky and crew in order to kick her problem with alcohol abuse.
Janice will be joining the likes of Bonnie Pointer of the Pointer Sisters, Jeremy London and his ex.

Sources tell TMZ ... Mel Gibson's lawyers claim to have hard evidence the tapes Oksana Grigorieva secretly recorded have been tampered with and edited, which, if true, would make them inadmissible in a court of law.
The L.A. County Sheriff's Department will have to authenticate the tapes before sending the case to the D.A.'s Office, and that could take time.
As we first reported, Mel's lawyers will be presenting evidence to the Sheriff's Department and we're told among the evidence they will present -- that the tapes have been altered. We're told Mel's lawyers will present "concrete forensic evidence" of tampering with the tapes, including editing.
Oksana's attorneys tell TMZ, "We are not aware of any presentation Gibson's lawyers are making, but we are not surprised they would make such unfounded claims."
TMZ broke the story ... Oksana's lawyers will be in court this morning asking a family law judge to strip Mel of custody of their daughter, using the tapes as evidence Mel is a danger to the child. The authenticity of the tapes will almost certainly be raised by Mel's attorneys.
A judge will admit tapes into evidence only if someone can authenticate that the tapes are true and correct copies of what was actually recorded.

Lindsay Lohan is apparently trying to blunt her 90-day jail sentence by moving in to a sober living house.
Lohan was spotted entering a facility in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon. Lohan's mother, sister and Sam Ronson were seen at the facility later that day.
As we first reported, attorney Robert Shapiro has been hired to help Lindsay either reduce or eliminate her jail sentence.
TMZ broke the story ... Shapiro is trying to push rehab immediately hoping it will satisfy Judge Marsha Revel.
Part of Lindsay's sentence was to check into rehab for 90 days after serving the jail time, but this appears to be an example of putting the cart before the horse.
UPDATE: Michael Lohan tells TMZ, "Why is that I had to cry from the mountain for Lindsay to listen to me, and now finally she is doing what I said?
I just pray they implement everything else I said, like getting Lindsay clean of all meds, picking all new friends and management, and that Dina put her motives aside and she go to counseling with Lindsay and me."

UPDATE: Sources connected with the case tell TMZ Mel's lawyers will prove Oksana's allegations "are absurd and provably false." One source adds, "Yeah right, aside from 200 tabloid editors, only Mel has her number."
Oksana Grigorieva has received "threatening and harassing phone calls" in the last 48 hours, and she believes Mel Gibson is behind them, and that is a big reason why her lawyers are going to court this morning to try and strip Mel of custody ... sources connected with the case tell TMZ.
As one source put it, "Mel is one of the few people who know the phone number. It's not him who's making the calls, but we have reason to think he's behind them."
We're told the calls were made directly to Oksana on her home line -- they were not voice messages. Oksana took the calls and claims the caller was "threatening and scary."
Steve Jaffe, the spokesperson for Oksana, would not comment on the calls, saying, "This is an issue for the court."

Platinum rapper Too Short was arrested for battery last night after he allegedly tried to beat up three bouncers in Boise, Idaho.
According to the Boise Police Department, Short and another man are accused of punching, kicking and pushing three security guards at a concert venue ... after the guards allegedly tried to stop Short from bringing "underage females backstage
and into his dressing room."
Cops say "underage" means under 21 ... not under 18.
Short was arrested and booked for three misdemeanor counts of battery ... while the other man was hit with two counts of battery.
We're told Too Short has since bailed out of jail.

Oksana Grigorieva's lawyers are going to court Thursday morning ... asking a judge to strip Mel Gibson of all rights to their child ... TMZ has learned.
Sources connected with the custody case tell TMZ ... Oksana's lawyers will tell the judge the secretly-recorded tapes show Mel is a danger to their daughter Lucia and he should not have any contact with her.
Oksana claims in the tapes Mel struck her on January 6 while she was holding the baby. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department is investigating Mel for child endangerment, among other things.
Sources connected with Mel tell us the actor denies striking Oksana.
The court hearing will almost certainly force the issue of the admissibility of the secretly-recorded tapes.
We will be at the courthouse -- of course.
