"Sex and the City" creator Darren Star is on board to direct the film, which is being written by "Runaway" creator Chad Hodge. Star also is executive producing with Dennis Erdman. "She is a fascinating person on every single level," said Hodge, who has a connection to Bryant -- they both attended Northwestern. "The twists and turns of her life are incredible." By age 18, Bryant, who was born to a religious Oklahoma family in 1940, had won Arthur Godfrey's talent show and a Miss Oklahoma pageant and finished as second runner-up for Miss America. In 1959 and '60, she was a major pop star with three million-selling records. After marrying and settling in Florida, she reverted to Christian music and, projecting a wholesome image, began plugging such blue-chip companies as Coca-Cola, Kraft Foods and Holiday Inn. Her most famous celebrity endorsement gig was for the Florida Citrus Commission, for which she sang in a series of TV commercials, closing each ad with the tag line, "A day without orange juice is like a day without sunshine." By the mid-'70s, Bryant was a Christian celebrity. She published several best-selling books and won Good Housekeeping's "Most Admired Woman in America" poll for three consecutive years. They should totally cast Delta Burke as Anita.

"Savage Love," the (potential) teevee show, "will focus on current events and cultural trends with sex as the filter." I'm hoping to bring a new kind of conversation to TV about sex—an honest conversation, one that's informed without being (too) wonky, funny without being (too) cruel, sexy without being (too) cheesy. Basically, my sex-advice column—but on the teevee! If any Sloggers are in LA next Thursday or want to come to LA next Thursday to be a part of the live studio audience at the taping of the "Savage Love" pilot—I'll save you a seat, Loveschild!—you can get tickets by clicking here.Looking forward to it, Dan!

It's true love for "True Blood" couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. The two are engaged to be married, reps for both actors on the HBO vampire series confirm to PEOPLE exclusively. No further details were available. The two have been together since February 24 of this year. Paquin, who plays telepathic Sookie Stackhouse on "True Blood," is originally from New Zealand and won a 1994 supporting actress Oscar for her role as the precocious child in "The Piano."What the funk going on with True Blood, anyway? Maryann is Satan or something, Sam turned into a bird, Lafayette is dealing V again, dirt-eating orgies, there's a second telepath, Bill's maker is a bitch, Jessica loves Hoyt...so many subplots!

The blood-orange carbonated drink has a slightly tart and lightly sweet flavor that is sure to taste better than the O negative blood consumed by the show's fictional vampires. Crafted to replicate the appearance of the synthetic blood beverage preferred by the undead in the series, the real-life drink will also be called Tru Blood. "From its first season, fans have been enamored with the show and have expressed a keen interest in the Tru Blood beverage," added James Costos, vice president of licensing and retail at HBO. "We're extremely excited to be able to bring this original drink to life." Allan Ball, creator and executive producer of the series, announced the launch of the bottles at the San Diego Comic-Con convention and joked that the drink was a mixture of "wine, vodka, Vicodin, Viagra and Ecstasy" and that it was "completely illegal."A 4-pack of Tru Blood will retail for $16. Yeah, I'll buy some as soon as it comes with a side-order of Jason Stackhouse.

In GLAAD's third annual Network Responsibility Index, which evaluated the five major networks and 10 cable outlets, HBO — the home to True Blood, Entourage and No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency — scored the highest rating and a grade of "Good," with 42 percent of its programming featuring LGBT content. Showtime placed second. "This year programming was not only inclusive of LGBT people, but networks like HBO are beginning to reflect the broad diversity within our community," Rashad Robinson, GLAAD's senior director of media programs, said in a statement. In all, GLAAD evaluated 4,901 hours of prime-time broadcast programming and 1,213 hours from cable, from June 2008 through May 2009.You can download a PDF of GLAAD's full report here.
Also ranking "Good" was ABC, the best-performing of the Big 5. With such shows as Brothers & Sisters and Grey's Anatomy, ABC boasted LGBT content in 24 percent of its fare. The CW followed with 20 percent. Among the networks graded "Adequate," Fox (11 percent) rose from its year-ago last-place finish, though GLAAD said that some of its LGBT-inclusive hours included "problematic content." Namely, a pair of Family Guy episodes — "Family Gay" and "Sit Down, Shut Up" — "included an excess of offensive gay images," said Robinson. Also, "So You Think You Can Dance" was the subject of a GLAAD Call to Action when judge Nigel Lythgoe made comments about two male dancing partners that were deemed by the organization to be homophobic. Lythgoe later apologized. "Failing" grades went to NBC (8 percent), CBS (5 percent) and cable's A&E, Syfy and TBS. CBS' annual ranking dropped from third among broadcast networks to last.
