Da'Sean Butler Spends Time Contemplating Some Of Life's Big Questions
It's a slow time of year for sports if you're a football or basketball sports blogger. I guess the same can be said if you're the Miami Heat's second round draft pick, Da'Sean Butler. The former Mountaineer hoops star took to Twitter today to ponder some of life's random questions, such as:
No, it's not news. Yes, it is entertaining. Good luck to Da' with the rehab.

Penn State To Host Navy in 2012
Only weeks after announcing Penn State will play Syracuse at the Meadowlands in 2013 and as part of a home and home series in 2020 and 2021, Penn State announced today it will host Navy at Beaver Stadium in 2012.
With the struggles Virginia has run into recently, it was essential that Penn State beef up the 2012 schedule with a respectable opponent to join MACrifices Temple and Ohio. Curley and the athletic department have sure done that here. While Navy is hardly a powerhouse, it's been the best of the independents in recent years and should give critics little to sneeze at when evaluating the Penn State schedule.
With the addition, the 2012 out of conference schedule is now complete, and thankfully includes no FCS programs in the mold of Youngstown State or Eastern Illinois. The slate is by no means a killer, but it's certainly better than some of the other schedules Nittany Lion fans have been saddled with in recent years.

Jose Tabata's Wife Pleads Guilty To Kidnapping, Faces Life In Prison
Jose Tabata's wife, Amalia Tabata Pereira, has pled guilty to kidnapping a newborn, and she faces life in prison.
Not much to add here - this story is weird, but it isn't particularly funny. Jose Tabata's solid play over the past year suggests this hasn't affected his play, and let's hope that continues to be the case. The real victims here are the child and her parents, of course, but Tabata thought he was a father when, in reality, the whole thing was a ruse. I wouldn't want to go through that.
More details on this story here.

Pitt Forward Dante Taylor Absent From Greentree Summer League Playoffs
Dante Taylor was absent from Monday’s Greentree Summer League playoff games. No reason has yet been reported for his absence.
Meanwhile, other Pitt players made headlines – most notably, the incoming freshmen. J.J. Moore led players on all four teams in scoring with 25 points and also collected 10 rebounds. But it wasn’t enough to overcome the performance of fellow freshman Cameron Wright. Wright led his team to a six-point victory, scoring 20 points:
Fans really should be encouraged by the play of both Moore and Wright during the Summer League games. Pitt’s third incoming freshman, Isaiah Epps, is not yet here and is expected to contribute to the team in the Fall.
