We live in an instant gratification and reaction world now, there is no denying that fact. If you win, you're in the pantheon of greatness and if you don't win, no matter what the reason, you're a bum. Perspective is thrown out the window and things aren't truly appreciated. If they are ever appreciated, it's well beyond the time to really enjoy it. While there is time, it's time to look at the value of the past decade of the Mavericks.

For those of you who care, I have some sort of summer cold and feel quite crappy. For those who don't, go out and find a heart, you soul-less beasts!! Despite being under the weather, I'm making an effort to keep you guys entertained in our slow off-season. One more plug for our contributors here at MMB... they are doing a GREAT job finding relevant things to discuss, so I hope you're reading all the fun posts they're... posting.
On to the excitement for today, Hump Day!
1. Who would you rather hump... just kidding. Here are the real questions (all very different) for today's discussion.
13. What other sports would the best players on the Mavericks be well-suited for and why? If they couldn't play your sport what sport should they play? (and DON'T say handball for Dirk... waaaay to obvious.)
14. What player, past or present, did you have the highest hopes for but didn't live up to your expectations?
15. If you knew Dallas would never win a title would you still root for them? (we've long talked about this one...)

Many people on this website have been talking about several trades to make Dallas stronger.
From the Chandler trade, to the possibility of acquiring Paul, to Fernandez, it's all about the battle of who we can get for who we give up. These are the basic ethics of any kind of trade, be it basketball or at a marketplace in India. What I was wondering, is to us Mavericks fans, what players have more value than they can produce for. This is possibly one of the most important factors in pulling off a one sided trade. Giving up the image of a great player, for the production of a great player. It'll all make sense after the jump.

After grading Jason Kidd, it seems that most of MMB thought favorably of him this past season, giving him mainly 7’s and 8’s. Now we get onto the next player on our report card, Shawn Marion.

Sorry for that little hiatus there, folks. Thankfully the authors on MMB are filling in with some nice features while I'm busy shuffling around boxes. I hope you're all taking the time to read these great pieces of sports journalism!

Grading the Mavs' season: Jason Kidd

To be honest, Dirk was probably the easiest person to grade on the roster. He earned mainly 9’s and 10’s, which he definitely more than deserved. Now, getting into the meat of the team, judging player’s grades should become much harder.
