Hey! I really wish that the "land of freedom" could hold real freedom and allow same sex marriage (actually everywhere).
I'm from Argentina and on July 15th we became the 10th country to have the nationwide law for same sex marriage after several weeks of struggle and listening to people saying the most outrageous things (God, Devil, blah blah…)

But it felt soooo nice when they approved it! (4am after 15 hours of debate!!)

Hmmm…a little history is in order here:

1) CA voters voted against legalizing gay unions under the name "marriage" - that ruling overturned by CA activist judges.
2) Prop 8 passes, confirming that CA voters STILL oppose gay unions being called "marriages" (GLBT couples still had all the same rights as married heterosexuals unions do in thier "marriage" though). This time, an openly gay judge throws ignores popular will.

What's the point of voting? Have a nice fucking day.

This is not about discimination against gays. Marriage has always been between a man and a woman, period. The judge had to be from San Francisco. I'm not surprised!!! I thought votes counted. Then why even bother putting it on the ballot? It's not over yet. As a gay marriage opponent, I'm pretty sure this will be overturned again and again and again.

7 million people voted against prop 8. If one judge can overrule it then in the future, when the state votes for something that the gay community wants, one judge will be over-rule it as well. This is a democracy, not a dictatorship. By overturning the people's vote, we are playing a dangerous game. Just sayin.

This is NOT a "gay issue". It's an issue of a judge going against the voters and having a dictatorship. That is very dangerous.

It's highly disappointing so many people jump on the "gay train" just because it's the latest fad to sweep America. The vast majority of celebrities support it so suddenly people set aside their consciences and morality to go along with them. Why do people with a mental sickness deserve the same benefits as those who are mentally healthy? The same argument can be made for pedophilia…"hey you can't help who you love, so let's embrace it." So let's let that 50 year old man take that four year old little girl home because he claims he "loves" her. No…it is morally wrong and the guy is messed up in the head. Same with homosexuality. Not to mention it is clearly not biological since gay people can't reproduce. And, if you are a Christian, you should be ashamed for discarding the teachings of your God.

The fact of the matter remains that who you can love love should never be madated by any government. Don't forget until 1968 it was illegal for blacks and whites to marry in this country. In some other countries it's illegal for Muslims and Christians or Muslims and Jews to marry. Marriage is about who you love, not ever specifically a man and woman. And don't give me that crap how can two "queers" have kids? My 75 yr old aunt got married and I'm pretty sure she can't have kids.
If everyone is so worried about the "sanctity" of marriage then make divorce illegal. Not so keen on that are you? I would also argue that homosexuality is not a natural attraction. I am not sure why you believe that just because homosexual behavior is found in nature, that makes it acceptable. Sin, depravity, and things that have deviated from what God intended do not apply just to mankind. They permeate the entire world, including nature. Animals are capable of sin as well (look it up sometime). That being said, I have read a number of articles in which some of the so-called 500 species were, in fact, not exhibiting homosexual behavior at all. It was misinterpreted and misconstrued. Let me point out that there are estimates of about 1.5 million KNOWN species total in the world. The 500 of supposed "gay" species you mention make up about….0.0003% of all the known species. Being gay is out of a person's control the same way that being a pedophile is. In both cases, it is an abnormality and it is wrong. Our country was founded BY Christians ON Christian principles. You want to believe that America today is secular. The media tries to portray the country as that, but in fact there is a very large majority who still hold to the morals, values, and teachings of the one true God.
