Forget The Judges! Idol Execs Say Its All About The "Talent" This Year!Filed under: TV News > American Idol
Uh-huh. Sure it is! Because the judges' table for American Idol continues to have two vacant chairs, the execs over at Idol are attempting to refocus the attention of the show to their new contestants. The masterminds behind the franchise reviewed the numbers from last season and realized the drastic DECLINE in viewership with people 18-49. Therefore, a hunt for "strong talent" for the coming season is being considered the key to reviving the ratings, not replacing Ellen and Simon. Adding to that mentality is the news that a new deal has been struck with Universal Music Group, which should open up a wider music catalogue for contestants. But regardless of what the suits might think, the only Idol factor on people's minds right now is who is going to tell them how to vote when this "strong talent" finally hits the stage. The source says an announcement should be made sometime around mid-September. Here's hoping they aren't friggin lying! We really, really, really want to know!!! Simple: Tommy Mottola can replace Simon & Jennifer Lopez replace Paula so they back to the old formula !
What they should do is stop making them sing ridiculous songs from genre's and styles that don't suit them. Have them sing their own style each week, and see if they can choose what best showcases their talent best.
Dina Lohan would make an excellent judge.
Can the lack of viewers possibily have anything to do with the show being on the air for the past 10 years and it being the same exact thing every single season? Kelly Clarkson is and always will be the only REAL American Idol. She's really pretty much the ONLY winner who has really gotten anywhere in the music biz

What Idol should really do is purge the entire judge lineup and go with ALL NEW UNKNOWN judges….. this would make the show feel brand new again instead of all the worn out stars making too much money….and they'd save millions …… NEED NEW FACES!!!!!!!!!!!!
i went to one of the auditions, the whole thing is a big joke anyway. there are reasons it's on a decline.
They do need some new judges….and a new host…and a different concept…it's just old now.
They've lowered the age limit. If they want more real talent, the should raise the age limit, too. It's the only way they are going to get more seasoned performers.
I don´t think that anything can help that dying show…it is in vain..

They do everything to make those contestants (which are quite talented sometimes…some of them at least) look like complete losers.
They stress them like shit , "over-judge" them for every fucking note, criticize for nothing and give often wrong advices…
And then they wonder why Idol does not "produce" major stars…It is still a miracle that a few Idols survived in that business after all the damage… to their creativity.
Kelly Clarkston was and is one of the great stars of A.I. I also think Adam Lambart is right up there too. Oh, and lets not forget Carrie Underwood!
They need new judges and a new concept.
That IDIOT Nygil or what ever his name is should just go back to where he came from and forget about his stupid ass show. It's done. Last season was a joke. It was like watching a sitcom laughing through the whole show. If he puts Tyler and JLO on as judges he will loose alot and I mean alot of viewers. I think that there are so many other ppl that he could choose but I bet that no one wants to be affiliated with the show. Tyler and JLO are loosers so that's probably why they wanted to do it. LOOSERS
