Cenk will be filling for for Ed Schultz on MSNBC from Monday August 16th through Friday August 20th (6-7pm Eastern, 3-4pm Pacific). Set your DVR/TiVo today! Also, Cenk will skype in from NY to host TYT with Ana (8-10pm Eastern, 5-7pm Pacific).
Fox News finally made it official. They are part and parcel of the Republican Party. They are now the largest donors to the Republican Governors Association, having given them $1 million dollars. They also employ three out of the top four Republicans in the Iowa Caucus Poll for GOP presidential candidates.
As I explain here, now that Fox News has come out of the closet, it's hard to distinguish where Fox News ends and the Republican Party begins:
--Ana answers a viewer's email about her stance against Chinese men that demand virgins in marriage --What do Ana & Jayar demand from a potential spouse? --Is a virgin ALWAYS a good thing to have??
The news broke today that News Corp, the parent of FoxNews, contributed $1 million to the Republican Governors Association. Cenk addressed this news on Tuesday in his guest hosting appearance on MSNBC. Several clips have been posted on the TYT YouTube channel.
On Monday's Ed Show on MSNBC, Cenk brought TYT style to television, including in-your-face criticism of Obama and the Democrats. Cenk challenged Representative Chris Van Hollen to pledge to defend Social Security against an upcoming assault by Obama's own deficit commission. Later Cenk interviewed and debated his rival pundit Mark Halperin, the man who Cenk says most embodies mainstream political group think.
Monday night Cenk hooked up with TYT via Skype to co-host the Young Turks with Ana Kasparian. They talked about the "Ground Zero Mosque", miracle workout shoes that make your butt thinner, the demographics that foretell the death of television, and the benefits of teenage sex.
TYT Members can catch all of yesterday's content. Or tune in to MSNBC at 6pm ET and TYT at 8pm ET for more great stories and commentary.
This week, August 16-20 TYT host Cenk Uygur is guest hosting the Ed Show every day at 6pm ET on MSNBC. From 8-10pm ET Cenk and Ana are hosting The Young Turks. On Monday Cenk delivered this impassioned commentary on the so-called Ground Zero Mosque.
On Tuesday, Robert Gibbs made comments about the "professional left" being "crazy" for attacking Obama. Then he backpedaled away from those comments by saying, "I watch too much cable, I admit." If he was watching cable last week, this is what he might have seen:

US District Judge Vaughn Walker is the judge who issued the ruling that Prop 8, which bans same sex marriage in California, is unconstitutional. Conservatives are now claiming that he is gay (which is unconfirmed at this point) and that his gayness presents an obvious bias. Furthermore, he should have recused himself from the case because as a gay man he would have a conflict of interest in deciding a case on gay rights.
