'Rocker' Ted Nugent pleads no contest to California deer hunting violations

Not much of a hunter either, using bait and killing juvenile bucks.

The Department of Fish and Game launched an investigation, spokesman Patrick Foy said, which later revealed this material to be a commercial deer bait. It is illegal in California to hunt with bait.

"We looked at it and we just shook our heads, saying 'I can't believe he actually aired this episode,' " Foy said. "We were all really disappointed to see this happen with a guy who is a representative of hunters."

Nugent was later charged with 11 misdemeanors related to events that unfolded on his own television show, Foy said.

Didn't help his music much, either. Good for kids to learn his songs with their first two power chords.

So.

when is he going on Hannity's show to explain his illegal activities. In most states where illegal game killing happens, the firearms are confiscated and licenses are revoked. Those violations may carry over from state to state just like driving violations.

Great American my ass.

Mexico City's mayor over accusations that the new laws allowing gay marriage and adoption are there because of bribery.

Bishop Sandoval Iniguez of Guadalajara had some especially offensive comments (he used the f word for gay men, or rather, he probably used the "m word" in Spanish to refer to gay men).

"mean" and get upset when she uses the n-word.

In the vein of Tony Hayward, Dr. Laura would like her First Amendment "rights" back.

half-wit or what?

*

.

Something along the lines of "she's working on a new book:"

"1 Stupid Thing Conservatives Do To Mess Up Their Lives"

or it might have been Colbert who said that.

Wants salt on their cracker.

!!!!!!!!

She has her First Amendment rights, just like you do, except she doesn't like it if people don't like what she has to say. If she used the "n" word, like she did, in a public place she might get a black eye. You are free to say as you like, but beware where you say things and there are consequences.

*

Ya gotta watch how these freaks frame it. She's trying to make it sound like she has no rights because of left-wing loons, but it's not true.

decency issue where others use their freedom of speech to push back against racist speech...

she was in a safe place. They may have security for the building where she broadcasts from but there is no security from public opinion.

She was safe alright, except for people boycotting sponsors so she lost her advertisers. That's what she's whining about: She lost money.

...that's all she lost. Like Imus, however, she'll probably be back once her ego needs a "fame fix." What other possible skill does she have? Can you imagine her in private practice?

abuses under her care. Too bad that inevitably people will still go see her.

She doesn't have any patients. She's not a psychologist.

Seriously, for some really good advice column read Amy Alkon, the Advice Goddess.

she has a degree in PHYSIOLOGY, not Psychology, yet she has foisted herself on an unsuspecting public as an all-knowing, advice-giving 'therapist'.

She is merely another arrogant, self-pitying, lying sociopath who has access to the public airwaves. Best thing for everyone to do is just turn off the radios and ignore the hell out of all of them

I'm still trying to understand why some (not all) white people are obsessed with wanting to use the n-word so bad. Is it because they want to seem cool and do what the rappers do or is it because they want to be able to call black people names in order to try to hurt us? I don't get it. Actually I think it's a power and control issue. I guess their thought process is why is this small minority group telling the majority that they can't do something?

Dr. Laura's whoa-is-me-my-rights-are-being-taken-away argument is full of shit. She claims she is sooo succesful and wasn't forced to apologize or quit, yet she does and then plays victim. No one, including the government has taken away her right to free speech. She's been on talk radio for like 20 years!

They like to dominate others, and free use of the n-word could achieve that for them...

her. From now on, I'm going the call her that "c**t." Is that okay with you, Doctor?

for years.

my mother would have told you to go wash your mouth out with soap.

...LifeBuoy, it ain't so badb.

it burns.

that would be my dad's punishment. He wouldn't let us get by with the mild stuff.

.

Even when my mother is angry, she stops to apologize if she days "damn".

until one day, the three of us were discussing a novel that had some rather perverse sexual activity in it. My mother and I laughed at her interpretation of that activity, and she got angry. She blurted out, "I thought they were just fucking!" I laughed so hard I fell off the hassock I was sitting on. The one and only time I ever heard her swear.

I would do the same if I heard my mother say anything like that!!! She won't even say "fart".

Canadians are so polite.

"Gordon Edwin MacGregor [I'm just blue-skying the last name], would you please go to your room until your father gets home? Pleaseb?"

I once had a hooker bitch at me for saying "fuck." That still makes me laugh out loud. Stupid, pretentious whore. I told her I just use the word, I don't do it for money. She got pissed, but I was bigger then her.

and we were well in to cursing. One night, after her daughter had gone to bed, we got high and started playing the repeat game ("Apple" "Apple, banana" "Apple, banana, cat" etc) only with swear words laughing our arses off.
Then, out of the bedroom comes this little voice, "Mummy, you and Kaffy are swearing."
Of course, we pissed ourselves laughing.

I can't stand her. She's Phyllis Schafly II, but with doctorate.

Syphilis Schlafly II, don't yoiu?

.

BTW - i don't think she's a medical doctor...

I seem to recall there being a controversy about her referring to herself as a doctor when she didn't have a doctorate. Do you remember that? I think she might have had a BS in sociology or something like that. I wouldn't put anything past a person who would demand her constitutional right to call fellow humans foul names.

Spoonerism found here, the other night-- don't remember who posted it but it was obviously memorable for me!

So here's the story: Palin Defends Dr. Laura

A snippet that shows how ridiculous it is:

Palin's claims reflect, at best, a questionable interpretation of the First Amendment, which was designed to prevent government from restricting free-speech rights -- not to provide citizens immunity from public controversy over potentially offensive remarks.

Ri-i-ight.

Dr. Cupid Stunt? Perfect!

19 years too long. She should get on her broomstick and fly home.

Here's my take on the whole "n-word" thing. I think it started out with black people wanting to take the power and negativity out of that word by beginning to use it among themselves as a friendly gesture. All honorable and noble intentions to take away the derigority element. Trouble is, seems many black people still do not like to hear that word at all under any circumstances. But now you've got rappers and comedians saying it all over the media and as a consequence, you have middle class white kids mimicking them. I don't think those kids are using the word as a put-down but to appear cool like those artists they look up to. So, I think a little bit of unintended consequences are at play here, no?

All she had to do to keep her job was to go out and scrounge up new advertisers. Why didn't she just get in contact with the Ku Klux Klan and the White Concerned Citizens Councilb?

notice that?

...I did. I don't think the change was coincidentalb.

CCC

has more money and a bigger vocabulary

Fair Game trailer. Who cares? Three hundred and eighty million eggs recalled for salmonella? Obama survived his association-by-default with BP. Via Ebert's tweet, he's also still more popular than potential GOP contenders. When even a woman in the GOP calls you out, you know you fucked up. I wonder why. It's not a small world for Muslim employee at Di$ney. No one complains about Muslims praying with the Pentagon...Obama needs to work on damage control. Roma denied French kiss. Whitman the Palin of Cali?

Court says US-Colombia Base Deal Unconstitutional

BOGOTA – Colombia's constitutional court Tuesday declared a US-Colombian accord that gave the US military access to at least seven Colombian bases to be unconstitutional.

The court ordered the government to submit the agreement to the Colombian Congress, arguing that it should be executed in the form of an international treaty that would be subject to congressional approval in order to comply with constitutional norms.

The court did not address whether the agreement itself was appropriate. ...

Who do I have to kill to get a marguerita around this place? I'm depressed and need some tlc (or tHc). But mostly, booze.

a bourbon and water with a splash of lemon juice, I'll pour.

Tanks!

I've been there a lot this summer, and I've noticed that unfortunately, while California libraries have less and less money to work with, at the same time, at this library at least, more and more people are depending on the library for entertainment. You know things are rough when teenagers spend a summer afternoon playing chess in the library (the library keeps board games, and some young people hang out there just to play them).

I on the other hand, am doing pretty well, and in addition to my used books and mags, which I have a lot of, I can also afford to buy books, CDs, language CDs, DVDs, or board games when I buy books for myself...

So, squirreling away it is...

I might be able to afford to live on my own. Although I can't move out on my own right now anyway, but I have tried before, and realized that my SSDI wouldn't cover anything resembling apartment rent...

They have been shorting us on the COLA since way before I started collecting benefits.

Let all cuts expire: if tax cuts allowed to expire the average tax rate would go from 20.8% to 23.5% in 2012. No loss in revenue.
Obama's Plan: tax cuts to families earning less than $250k will cost $3 trillion over 10 yrs.
Extend all cuts: the cost will be $3.7 trillion over the next 10 yrs. in tax revenue

check out the interactive graph.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/special/...

Don't believe anything in the Washington Post!

Fact: 88% of all tax cut benefits from Bush's wealth transfer went to people making over $250,000 a year.

And 2/3rd's of those tax cut dollars went to the richest 2%!

It sure is a good thing the USA has no problems right now. It leaves endless time to discuss Dr. Laura, the "mosque" in Manhattan (no one will ever see), and docotred videos of Shirley Sharrod. These pressing issues are very relevant to the mid-terms.

.

The Republicans have nothing to offer (but doom and "NO") so they're out in force ginning up phony controversies.

The party is not the same any more.

The new conservative choice is the Democrats.

These Republicans are Republicans in name only.

How low will they sink.

Good question, they're already lower than snake shit.
Hard to undercut snake shit.

Unless Hell opens up and swallows them. One lives and hopes.

welcomed with open arms by their wayward brethren.

You know the rest of the world is just laughing at you. I've been in 5 countries on 3 continents so far this year and it's the same everywhere. The consensus is, America is batshit crazy and we're watching the Empire decline before our eyes. Then we carry on with our lives (happy we don't live there).

We need a new word like Politainment, cuz there ain't no real politics going on, just backroom deals. We all know it too, don't we?

I laugh at us. Many people here think we are superior intellectually and in all other ways to those other citizens of the world. Ha! What a bunch of fools. Every time I see Palin, et al., running off at the mouth, I would get embarrassed and then angry. But anger didn't help, so it had to go. Now I just see how ridiculous they are. I hope the rest of the world doesn't think we're all like them.

We know you're not all that way, but, c'mon, you guys are making it just oh so easy!!

Volcanos and all.

Oh,

it's all us. It has nothing to do with the media. For the mst part, mny of us were brainwashed by the media. Fox news producer in Orwell rolls in his grave said, "If it's not in the news, is it news?" Most people won't believe anything unless they saw it on Fox CNN or much of the other MSM.

anyway? Especially, thinking for yourself? People act like thinking and headaches are the same thing.

When you actually show signs of it, they accuse you of groupthink.

they are the ones that are in groupthink because they have to follow the conventional thinking they learned from the MSM and Fox.

impertinence. How dare I speak of serious issues with other adults. Bunch of ostriches.

because I'm going to move back home and they go nuts when I talk about politics.

Yet, they hold signs like this:

http://0.tqn.com/d/politicalhumor/1/0/X/t/2/p...

and seem to think they know WTF they're talking about. Of course thinking scares them.

My husband graduated high school in 1957. Now, to get an education as comprehensive as his, one must get a college degree.

Well, the government is under attack by a hostile, criminal organization that has it's very own TV network
that has much of the population believing that they are news.

I don't see why they can't get the whole lot eventually under the R.I.C.O. act.

The rest of them will just flounder and die.

Under attack or has been taken over? A silent money coup.

walks?" Well, now they both talk. Thank you, Rumer and Ailes. And who is even a little surprised that Murdoch would be the first one out of the gate to openly buy political power? Hands, please. No one? That's what I thought.

OK. what's the deal with all the
Eat Pray and Love merchandise?

Do they think women and their money are easily separated or what?

of the Bush doctrine.

Iraqis, don't destroy your oil wells.

Americans keep on shopping.

The Bush Doctrine? What's that, Charlie?

Palin and all the other female idiots the GOP has trotted out to show how easily manipulated some people are. Just like they did with Clarence Thomas and Michael Steele. They're saying, "See? We told you they're too stupid and incompetent to be trusted with any real power."

"See? We told you they're too stupid and incompetent to be trusted with any real power."

Are you saying that Michael Steele was chosen to discredit the competence of blacks? I never thought of it that way, but it wouldn't surprise me.

That's why they chose him. He's a clown. He's has no sense of self-awareness. Thomas is a surly pervert with, apparently, no mind of his own. He parrots what his buddy, Scalia, tells him. Have you seen any opinion written by him? Until recently, there was nothing of any substance from him. Actually, there still isn't.

If you want to find the cream of the crop of Democratic black people, there is no shortage. In fact, plenty of quality people (per capita) can be found in any race. But not Republicans. They seem to be scumbags no matter what color they are.

smart to join the racist party. Why would anyone with a functioning brain join a party that would only hurt them? What IS the matter with Kansas?

part of the answer is gay marriage and part of the answer is the Christian.

That's what the Democratic Governors Association is saying, and that there should be a disclaimer to that effect.

When you invade isn't the first target the radio stations (or at least it used to be. Bit dated now)? Control the message.

And we thought Google was one of the good guys. Money is soooo corrupting.

Yep. But why bomb the transmitters when you can hijack their studios?

Actually, Tokyo Rose is a pretty good analogy for 0'LIElie and the Marshmellow man.

in the ass. I sense a rumble, and I've been through this before. Many of us DFH's are still here.

Abortion law requiring screenings won't take effect:

Attorney General Jon Bruning agreed to a permanent federal injunction against enforcement of the law, which faces a challenge from Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, said his spokeswoman Shannon Kingery.

"It is evident from the judge's ruling (to temporarily block the law from taking effect) that LB594 will ultimately be found unconstitutional," she said. "Losing this case would require Nebraska taxpayers to foot the bill for Planned Parenthood's legal fee."

"We will not squander the state's resources on a case that has very little probability of winning."

Story here.

Looks like we tortured one of our own. Gainesville choose not to enable incitement. Yeah, I hate L.A., too.

[Comment Deleted By Administration For Violation Of Terms Of Service]

Our fighting boys are out of Iraq (except for the 50,000 we left there to train and give support?) but glad they are headed home I hope jobs family, friends and jobs are waiting for them.

Whether they want to tell us that all combat troops are out of Iraq or not, I don't buy it.

I find it hard to believe that the US has abandoned the war in Iraq. In fact, I've been maintaining that whenever it suits them, the war in Iraq will flare up just as in Afghanistan, but the flare ups in both cases are fake.

There is no change in Iraq (at least not for the past 5 or 6 years) just as there is no change in Afghanistan, although the wars do go on and in both cases our supposed enemy is simply gathering strength. Why? Because they live there and are fighting for their lives and their soil.

Iraq and Afghanistan still suffer from the same pressures that arose with the respective invasions, and it's not nifty as Bob Bennett thinks nor do the Iraqis think the US invasion was a blessing -- but he's the expert -- except for those minions who have been tailored to be the new ruling class. Most are the same people who've always been running the show even if a few of the faces are different.

does it again.

- ON THIS DAY -

On Aug. 19, 1934, a plebiscite in Germany approved the vesting of sole executive power in Adolf Hitler as Fuhrer.

http://www.nytimes.com/learning/general/onthi...

I just saw a news item on msnbc that said the number of Americans who believe the President is a Muslim is growing. It didn't say so but I think the number of stupid people is growing as well.

And what if he were a Muslim? What then? Would racist America do? He is the President, elected by majority.

(I know a lot of heads would explode, but does the Constitution forbid it? Must the president be a Christian?)
