Video Short: Fluffy Mc Cloud

06.28.2010 @ 9:57 PM in Culture

A short film about man’s misunderstanding and mixed relationship with mother nature (barf!)..

This is Conor Finnegan’s graduate film from IADT National Film School. Fluffy McCloud is the cutest little ornery wisp I’ve ever seen and the mix of stop motion, live action and cartooning is some really top notch stuff. He’s from Dublin, Ireland, but looking for work in NYC… I doubt he’ll be waiting long.

The SousVide Supreme: Very Tasty Science.

06.28.2010 @ 9:30 AM in Bilerico

I consider my self to be a fairly competent cook (just look at my partner's belly) and only claim to be great at a few dishes. One of those just happen to be Carne Asada. Chile rubbed flank steak, quickly seared, and sliced oh so thin; once you had my tacos, you'll be hard pressed to pick up a boxed kit again. I didn't think it could get any better... until a big box showed up at my door containing a remarkable device called the SousVide Supreme.

Spoiler alert: tastiness ensued.

The Flower Panter, at Sai One

05.29.2010 @ 7:08 PM in Buffalo

I got the idea for this flower panter, a Denim Garden if you will, whilst walking down the streets a few days ago. I never have time to do anything whimsy, but a three day weekend and a two day work furlough was the perfect opportunity to get ‘r done. My good friend Angel has a fashion boutique on 818 Elmwood Ave in Buffalo, NY, and I’m always helping him with creative ways to pull people into his store. If the idiots after dark don’t destroy it in a week, I’m prolly going to make a few more, have a little denim garden in front of Sai One (and Splash Panic!, Angel’s hipster fashion boutique neighbors).

Jump through to see more pics and how I did it.

At Spot with the Two Fat Ladies

I had no trouble getting up before Ten, since I’m enjoying a wonderful break from the Club for a few days. I still have to work the White Party but for now I’m enjoying the company of my two favorite bears.

Google Throws Froyo in Apple’s Face

05.23.2010 @ 8:00 PM in Bilerico

Froyo. Tart, Refreshing, and with a Web Browser faster than the iPad. Not to mention it's good for a healthy digestion.

Google-Android-22-Froyo-May-2.jpeg

Froyo is the confectionary moniker for Android's 2.2 release announced at this week's Google I/O (think a Revenge of the Nerds pep rally). Held inside the Moscone Center, in San Francisco, the same venue Apple showcases their latest and greatest, Google had their own showcase, presenting some compelling updates to their mobile OS.

I’ve been dating Jay for a year now… he’s still alive, in good health, and has most of the hair he had when I met him. I don’t know where the next few years will take us but I’m sure they’ll be as awesome as the first…

The Pope Song: Possibly Mother F#$&ing Offensive

05.03.2010 @ 10:33 AM in Culture

There’s not much else to say about this whole pope-possibly-hiding-the-kiddy-touchers-from-justice issue that this song doesn’t sum up. And like Joe.My.God says, this “fucking wins the internet for all motherfucking time.” Lyrics + Video after the fucking Jump.

MIA: BORN FREE [Ginger Genocide]

04.27.2010 @ 2:03 PM in Culture

DISCLAIMER: The following video for M.I.A’s new single, “Born Free” is extremely violent, but not for violence sake. M.I.A. is no stranger to adversity, as she grew up during the Shri Lankan Civil War. In fact, a good portion of her music has something to do with either government oppression, war, and situations much like what is portrayed in the following video. Youtube pulled the video when it premiered Monday, due to its extreme content.  Sometimes music videos have a fine line to walk between political commentary and shock value. I understand youtube’s stance on this, but the video is here on Vimeo and other places, like M.I.A’s website.

TouchOSC + VDMX = WIN

TouchOSC + VDMX = WIN

touchosc was the reason I bought an ipod touch, and totally the (main) reason I bought an ipad. all that screen, a smooth capacitive multitouch interface, and a clean adhoc to the macbook pro make me a happy boy. this way I can have all my video controls at my fingertips.
