Are Conan's Writers Getting Screwed In Move To TBS?
Filed under: TV News > Conan O'Brien > Business BlitzDamn! We thought these guys were out of the woods finally!
Although Conan O'Brien managed to ensure that his writers would stay with him when he left the Tonight Show and moved to TBS, apparently many are unhappy that they'll be taking a pretty hefty pay cut!
An insider reveals:
"This is no surprise. One show was broadcast network; the other is basic cable. It's a different pay scale. It's not just writers; it's everybody. None of this is resolved."
We're sure this isn't easy, but we think these writers should just be grateful that in this economy, they had a boss that fought to keep them around and employed!
Hopefully they can negotiate something satisfactory soon!

Whomp, whomp! But it's still very exciting news.
The legendary Stevie Nicks has announced to sources that she is hard at work on a new solo CD! It's been quite a while since we've heard anything from her that wasn't Fleetwood Mac related, but she assures everyone that the disc will drop sometime next year.
Though it is a solo album, Stevie decided to branch out and collaborate for the very first time. We're told she is writing with The Eurythmic's Dave Stewart. She explains:
"This is a great opportunity to do something new. You feed so much off each other…. [the CD is a] full-blown rock-n-roll album with some beautiful ballads".
Amazing! Amazing! Amazing!
We can't wait to hear what she's got for us! It's sure to be epic!

Filed under: Reality TelevisionBrace yourself because this may make you ill.
By the end of this year, Jersey Shore's The Situation will have earned $5 million for just being his fist-pumping, GTL loving guido self!
According to source, Jersey's ABalicious wonder will rack in the dough from his show salary, appearance fees and endorsement deals. And the cash flow won't end there! The Sitch is totally banking on his popularity and he is writing a book, releaseing a clothing line, an excercise video and least s not forget, a rap single called The Situation.
With offers to star in tv shows and film, it looks The Sitch could be making a lot more money in the months to come.
Notice how we say months and not years. Really, Mike, take note of that before you get too full of yourself to remember you are just a flash in the pan reality star!

Kanye West To Release One Song Every Week!
Filed under: Music Minute > Kanye West > TwitterBrace yourself, because weeks are about to get a whole lot better…that is, if you like Kanye West.
Kanye has announced via Twitter that he will release a new song every week through Christmas time:
"I know y'all need the music so I'm dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It may be my song, it may be a new Jay song, etc."
More from Kanye:
"Y’all know every Friday y'all gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now … It's about the fans. No more holding back. That's why I dropped 'See Me Now' … it wasn't about me, it was about the Summer the BBQs etc."
Kanye is referring to his new Friday releases as G.O.O.D. Fridays. Apparently, he hasn’t been getting very much sleep while creating all this new music for the fans. Here’s what Kanye had to say about it via Twitter:
"Swizz looked at me the other night and said, 'Man are you getting sleep?' And I told him, 'I can't sleep … my people need this new music,' "
We like the thought behind these weekly Friday releases, Kanye, and we really appreciate the effort…but maybe try to grab a couple of hours of sleep every night. If every once in a while a track has to be released on a G.O.O.D. Saturday, we promise we won’t hold it against you.

Lily Is Still Shiz-Talking
Filed under: Lily Allen > TwitterAlthough we thought that being with child would soften her up, we were wrong!
Lily Allen has nothing better to do in life than Tweet shiz about the X Factor.
She wrote:
"X factor - FAIL. Too set up/scripted in my humble opinion. I don't know how Simon Cowell has managed to get away with essentially copywriting (sic) the talent contest. It's beyond me, really.
It's s**t. FACT! It's everything that I detest about modern western culture. Cowell is the only one who really benefits. People like you EAT IT UP.
I'd rather actually eat my own c**p, than sit next to any of those goons. Except Cheryl, obvs (obviously). I've better things to do with my time than feed the nation with the notion that doing cover versions will sort your life out."
Ha. Unless they ask her to be a judge, of course.

Minneapolis Doesn't Like Zombies!
Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True > Mugshot Hall Of FameSeems the folks in Minneapolis don't really have a sense of humor…and are a bit harsh!
A group of seven friends are receiving a big pay out from the city of Minneapolis after the were arrested and thrown in jail for two days on charges of, wait for, dressing like zombies!
Okay, not really, but it is still excessive regardless!
Back in 2006, these seven friends dressed up as zombies and took to the city streets to protest what they called mindless consumerism. As the lurched through the town, police thought that one of them was carrying a bomb and so, they were arrested. Turns out, the "bomb" was a radio, but still, the creatures of the night were kept in lock up for two days.
Because officials went overboard, the city now has to pay $165,000 to the group, along with their lawyer.
Next time Minneapolis, remember you have to do something WRONG to wind up in jail. While dressing like a zombie might be creepy and unsettling, it is not a crime. If it was, there would be a laundry list of celebs in prison right now, starting with you Taylor Momsen! (Admit it, she kind of looks like a hooker zombie, right?)
