Watch: Mike Rogers and Stephanie Miller on Mehlman Coming Out

Rogers

Cenk Uygur of The Ed Show talks to blogger Mike Rogers, who really pushed this story out earlier than I think was planned, on Ken Mehlman's coming out. Uygur also talks to radio host Stephanie Miller, who recently came out herself.

  1. I don't think the requests from Mike Rogers in this show are realistic. I agree with all the reasons but the douchebag doesn't have to sell his place if he can get his money elsewhere to fulfill the goal. I feel we're just giving fodder to the right wing and cnn without necessarily showing the correct intent.

  2. I hope Mehlman has enjoyed his thirty pieces of silver.

  3. I'm really glad Cenk Uygur is getting wider exposure. I think he's a terrific broadcaster, an insightful interviewer, and the kind of str8 ally that we need more of. The fact that he's easy on the eyes is merely a bonus -- a huge bonus.

  4. When that prick "came out" he said he was surprised that gay voters never formed common cause with " Republican Opponents of Islamic jihad, the greatest anti-gay force in the world right now?" The only reason that they may be the greatest anti-gay force in the world right now is because the GOP is arguably a close second. This is a naked GOP ploy to curry favor with our community and I'm happy to see that it is falling flat on its face. With the GOP it's all about power. The road that they have chose to achieve power in the past fifty years has been to paint some group as other, evil and un-American therefore unworthy or rights, human rights. The Republican party is a sick, sick, sick organization of evil rich bastards that have gleefully enriched themselves at the expense of the United States Constitution and the very future of American Democracy and anybody who calls themselves a Republican should be ashamed of themselves, but alas they have none. Oh and Cenk is great!

  6. I find it hard to believe Stephanie Miller when she claims she's fought so hard for equal rights, etc.. and that she's a private person. She has openly stated (on the day she came out) that she was in the closet for the benefit of her career. How fucking brave is that? Remember Harvey Milk's only request was that we all come out?? That would have been heroic and honest. I'm bored with these cowards.

  7. There is a definite push this year by the Republicans to downplay social issues and push economic ones to the front lines. While it's plausible they forced Mehlman out of the closet in order to facilitate it, I'm not certain it has the effect they would like to see of dividing the gay community against the Democrats.
