Stephen Colbert paid a visit to Capitol Hill this morning to testify before a House Judiciary subcommittee. And oh yes, he was in character.

The comedian and host of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” discussed his “vast experience spending one day as a migrant farm worker,” adding that he was “happy to use [his] celebrity to draw attention to this important, complicated issue.”

“I certainly hope that my star power can bump this hearing all the way up to C-Span 1,” Colbert quipped. Check out the video below:

Inspired by the now-infamous meat dress that Lady Gaga wore at the 2010 MTV Music Awards, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice actress Kate Walsh donned a totally sustainable sushi and sashimi dress during her recent appearance on the The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Adorned with fishy plastic replicas (rather than the real deal) hot-glued to a simple black cocktail silhouette, her soy sauce belt, California roll cocktail ring, Japanese Tamago omelet glasses and peekaboo prawn shoes pulled the whole ensemble together in impeccably coordinated style.

Designed to help raise awareness for the marine conservation organization Oceana (a personal cause of hers) as well as remind people to make more sustainable seafood choices at the grocery store and while dining out, Walsh was quick to assert that her dress was bluefin-free.

The actress is now passing along her sushi frock and accessories to one of her fans, explaining: “We did a little sweepstakes contest on Twitter and we have a winner… It’s for one of my charities, Oceana. I did this to really keep people thinking about sustainable seafood…see what’s in season before you order.”
