A proposed ad that someone should pay for

This came to me by email:

DRAFT ATTACK AD ON BUSH AS FLIP-FLOPPER (90 seconds):

[Politely disgusted female announcer, perhaps shown talking to the camera, a middle-aged, no-nonsense, working-mom swing voter type:]

There's been a lot of hot air about "flip-flopping" in this campaign. Well, George Bush has some nerve calling John Kerry a flip-flopper! The fact is, Kerry has fought consistently for the issues that matter to this country, just as he volunteered to fight for his country in Vietnam.

Who's the REAL flip-flopper?

Remember when George Bush vehemently OPPOSED the new Homeland Security Department, an idea supported all along by Kerry and most Democrats? Then Bush, nine months after 9/11, suddenly said he supported the idea after all, and he attacked Democrats as unpatriotic if they didn't support every single detail of his proposal!

What do you call that?

Incredibly, Bush OPPOSED having ANY independent investigation of the 9/11 attacks. Only when the families of the victims insisted did he finally cave in. And then, even Republicans on the 9/11 Commission criticized Bush for failing to fully cooperate.

What do you call that?

Bush ran as a free-trader in 2000, AGAINST import tariffs. Then, as President, he slapped on steel import tariffs, to help himself
politically in a swing state. Later, when it looked like the tariffs might HURT him politically in another swing state, he flip-flopped AGAIN and removed them! It's enough to make your head spin!

Tell Bush and the Republicans to deal with the real issues facing our country, and stop the dishonest smear attacks on John Kerry! Read More......

KERRY FIGHTS BACK!

It's time to take no prisoners! Go, Kerry, go!
His newly installed senior adviser, Joe Lockhart, called the Vietnam veterans group that has questioned Kerry's valour in the war as a 'bunch of pathological liars... a bunch of right-wing kooks who are working with the White House.''

....He called the four-day Republican gathering "bitter and insulting'' and listed Bush's reasons for his invasion of Iraq and followed each reason with the words "that wasn't true.

"Every time they open their mouths they can't tell the truth. It's time for us to have a president of the United States who can look you in the eye and when he does, you know you're being told the truth.''

....He took direct aim at Cheney, who won five deferments from the army during the Vietnam era, and Bush, whose family connections kept him stateside in the National Guard and whose service still includes an unexplained gap.

"I will not have my commitment to defending this country questioned by those who refused to serve when they had a chance and I will not have it questioned by those who misled this nation into war in Iraq," Kerry said.

Here comes the October "Surprise"

Don't be shocked when this happens. Be shocked if it doesn't. According to AP:
The United States and its allies have moved closer to capturing Osama bin Laden in the last two months, a top U.S. counterterrorism official said in a television interview broadcast Saturday.

"If he has a watch, he should be looking at it because the clock is ticking. He will be caught," Joseph Cofer Black, the U.S. State Department coordinator for counterterrorism, told private Geo television network.
The President has wanted it both ways on bin Laden - he matters, he doesn't matter. If they catch him, he matters. If they don't catch him, well, of course the war on terror is greater than one man. Flippity flop. Read More......

"Who are they going to send the bill to?"

Kerry comes out fighting again today on the record breaking Medicare increase. Glad to see he's not letting the two new questionable polls bother him. Neither should we. Let's just keep fighting back, calling the Repub's on their lies and get people registered.
"They're trying to fake it to the American people," he said. "They're trying to bamboozle you and throw around so much mud that you can't really break through and grab onto the things that are real in your lives."

New Yorkers locked-down in their own homes so Bush could pray

I interviewed a NYer on the train back to DC last night who was literally locked-down in her apartment last Thursday because Bush desperately needed to pray at the church next to where she lived.

From early morning until 1PM the police ordered her and her neighbors NOT TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES. At one point, she desperately needed to buy a cup of coffee and rushed out of her home at 10AM, then returned shortly thereafter to find that the cop wouldn't let her back into her apartment building. This is the same cop who minutes earlier saw her left. She finally pulled out all of her IDs and begged, and the guy finally let her back in. But after that, nada. Even the doorman wasn't permitted to leave the building.

Now, I have to ask. Bush pops in and out of NYC on the same day, doesn't even spend the night. It's a Thursday. And he absolutely has to hit a church, even though it means locking down an entire block, trapping people in their homes for almost 5 hours. Absolutely ridiculous. If security needs to be that tight, then don't go to church on a Thursday for a photo op. Read More......

Did Bush violate the UCMJ by wearing military award he didn't earn?

Growing evidence suggests he did. If Bush can throw gays out of the military for violating the Uniform Code of Military Justice, then he has to abide by it as well, since he's Commander in Chief.

Former Bush press secretary forms new 527 linking Kerry to Cali drug cartel (so NOT kidding)

Putting aside for a moment the question of why Jeb Bush hired a man who worked for pornographers, this guy has also worked for the NRSC, the NRCC, and the Republican Governors Association but, really, I'm not kidding, seriously, even though he even WORKED FOR THE BUSH FAMILY he has NOTHING to do with the Bush campaign, ok, you believe me now, right?
"MoveOnForAmerica.Org is a group of citizens created by its president, DC-based GOP political consultant Stephen Marks. Specializing in opposition research and media, Mr. Marks has consulted dozens of candidates at all levels from presidential to congressional, including consulting for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, and the Republican Governors Association. Mr. Marks has also been a press secretary in GOP campaigns [including Jeb Bush's bid for governor in 1994], as well as an investigative journalist for such publications as Penthouse..."
The bottom line is that this guy wants press, and he's doing exactly what I'd do. Steal MoveOn's name so that MoveOn gets upset and sues him, thus giving him national publicity to spout lies about Kerry. While it's important we all know that this ass is out there, I'm posting this so folks realize what we're up against and GET REALLY ANGRY AND MOTIVATED. We need to give as good as we get gang. Let's do it. Read More......

New poll confirms Bush's lead, BUT it also confirms he's vulnerable as hell

"The Newsweek survey found voters ranked terrorism and the economy the two most important issues in the election and more Americans still think the country is going in the wrong direction, 49 percent, than believe otherwise." - Bloomberg

Reagan Defense Official says, by definition, Bush was AWOL

See, I was wondering about. Everyone bitching about how, even if Bush was missing he wasn't AWOL. And I didn't get it. Isn't missing without permission per se AWOL? Apparently, a senior Reagan defense official says "yes." Read More......

VIDEO: Sure looks like Bush convention supporter assaulted anti-Bush protester

As I understood it from some of the groups involved in the protests that took place on the GOP convention floor, their members were charged with all sorts of ridiculous felonies like assault, for simply standing and yelling. Well, a representative of the groups told me that a GOP conventiongoer assaulted one of their protesters and it was captured on the air - but, supposedly, that GOP conventiongoer is NOT being charged with assault. Someone just sent me the video, and it looks to me like the GOP guy definitely kicked this woman while she was on the floor.

So the big question is: Is this Bush supporter being charged with assault or not? Time to call the NYC police and ask. Make sure you also call ALL the local TV stations in NYC to ask them about this - I deal with local news a lot, if it is true that anti-Bush demonstrators are being charged with felonies while someone attacking those same demonstrators is not charged with anything (and we got film of it), then this is a civil rights issue now. Hopefully the ACLU NYC is up on this as well. Read More......

Shocking News! Edwards shamelessly succeeded financially on his own in life

How dare he make money by fighting and winning against incompetent doctors and corporate America who sold faulty products that brutally disemboweled a young girl. Doesn't he have the decency to get pulled through life by daddy's connections? Can't he just sit there and have wealth dropped on his lap? Nice to see rich white men jump on other rich white men for being wealthy, on their own, no less. A meritocracy, heaven forbid. King George II will have none of it.

Medicare premiums jump 17%. Bush gives seniors largest jump in history of Medicare

So much for campaign talk about helping with healthcare. I'm sure that seniors won't even notice the change because their healthcare costs have been completely under control. Besides, since when do seniors pay attention to healthcare issues? Just tell granny that if she can wait until 2006 all her dreams will come true and the easter bunny will hop-hopping along with everything she will ever need. Sounds like another can of worms here that they're going to regret bringing up just before election time. Kerry ought to be all over the 17% increase as well as the 14% from last year and the broken promises to seniors.
Scott Stanzel, a spokesman for the Bush campaign, said that "President Bush has worked to increase health care access and affordability, including guaranteeing Medicare recipients prescription drugs."

When Dr. McClellan's predecessor, Thomas A. Scully, announced last year's 14-percent premium increase, he said the increase demonstrated that Congress should give private health plans a larger role in Medicare. Through such private plans, Mr. Scully said, beneficiaries "would have access to lower premiums and lower costs."

Democrat Says He Helped Bush Into Guard to Score Points

What's good for the goose... It's time to start talking about Georgie's Vietnam record again, when our boys were dying over there and Bush couldn't even show up for his quite-safe state-side National Guard duty.

Are we really to believe that some guy, totally unrelated to Bush, just happened to, out of the blue, try to get Bush out of serving in Vietnam, and the Bush family had no knowledge of what was going on? Yeah, right. Read More......
