Welcome! This is an exciting time to have a son or daughter at The University of Akron, as our University has never been stronger than it is today. Freshmen enrollment has increased 23 percent since 2005, largely because of:

• our outstanding faculty members and researchers,
• the 350 academic programs that we offer, and
• our revitalized campus, which includes a new Student Union, rec center, stadium and residence halls.

We are committed to making the transition to college easy for you and your student. Our students participate in over 200 recognized clubs and student organizations, ranging from

• vibrant Greek fraternities and sororities,
• student government,
• interest clubs and
• academic clubs.

We have a number of resources available to help students adjust to college life and succeed academically. For parents, we have created the Parents and Family Association to help make the transition easier. The association is also a great way to stay informed about important events on campus.
