David! Thanks for posting "World's AIDS Day" the way you did. By naming lovers and friends ...and with the enduring Red Ribbon... and with "This is Not Over."

I miss Southern California friends (living ones, too) and East Coast friends who died from AIDS.

Reading the names of our friends was one of our early tactics in speeches and protest rallies. Names, of course, which, led to "The Names Project."

I'll add some names: Sean Egan (DC/LA); Peter Marechal (Marina Del Ray); Michael Roche and Larry AA WeHo; Mario Z.(NYC); Ernie Dunda, David & Dean Abbott, Baltimore.

I was arrested in the streets at the White House with Cleve Jones and a handful of other leaders to declare the First World AIDS Day.

So many years later- it's visibility- and success as a mainstream organizing tool is impressive. Yet, so many years later without a cure- PUH!

Keep on keeping on-- "Hear the call!" We are under assault-- and fighting-- on so many fronts-- Same as it ever was, again! To Hell with Politics as usual. Stand up! Act-Up! Act-Up!

A cure will bring the beginning of justice as far as HIV is concerned.

So this year I will have to ask "in our hearts do we feel we deserve such justice?"
