Washington Post endorses Kerry

I'm a bit surprised. The Post has been so conservative over the past year or two that I wouldn't have been surprised if they endorsed Bush. While a Post endorsement of Bush would have been a disaster, I'm not so sure the Post endorsing Kerry really matters much, or rather, it doesn't have that great an impact. Still, it shows that thinking people get that it's time for someone new. And that's good for Kerry and all of us. Read More......

Boo! All of sudden, now they've FOUND evidence the terrorists are trying to strike before the election

Gee, 24 hours after the papers expose the fact that the "Osama is going to blow us up before the election" alert is all bogus, suddenly - suddenly! - the FBI pulls out of their ass "new evidence, just discovered moments ago!" Yes, it seems we've just found out - from, of course, unnamed FBI officials, that the terrorists are coming to get us now. Get ouf out of the house, they're on the other extension!

This entire series of alerts has become a fucking joke. Remember two weeks ago when they told us Osama was after your kids in school? We found out late on Friday night that, no, it was all based on faulty evidence (notice how that story didn't get any coverage). I don't believe a single damn thing these guys say anymore. And now, suddenly, they find "evidence" that we're all going to die again.

Honestly, there could be a nuke ready to get off in 5 minutes and nobody would believe these asses anymore, they've lied so much and so often to try to simply scare us into supporting them. When will the media actually write a story about the ongoing botched terror alerts - duct tape anyone? - and how this administration has totally lost the trust of the people? Read More......

Jon Stewart on "60 Minutes" on Sunday

That should be interesting, and can only help increase his audience this week prior to the election. More from CBS. Read More......

They're kidding, right?

THIS administration says John Kerry is dangerous? Really?

Remember duct tape?
Remember the weeks of "the noose is tightening" on Osama?
Remember letting the suspected terrorist go back to Saudi Arabia?
Remember all the defense programs CHENEY wanted to cut?
Remember the cuts in funding for intelligence bush's new CIA chief called for?
Remember the intelligence briefing about Osama they ignored?
Remember the anthrax somebody sent to the Senate?
Remember the major screw-up on flu vaccines?
REMEMBER MY PET GOAT?

Are you kidding me? These are just the examples I could come up with in less than two minutes. This is our administration's strength? This is the reason they want us to vote for them?

I've said it before -- they have nothing left. All they can do is try to scare people. There isn't a single argument they can honestly win on the merits. All they have left is wolves and communism.

Hundreds of thousands may not have died of AIDS had Dick Cheney never been born

Well, judging by Cheney's recent comments about Kerry, I think the title of this post is just as reasonable. After all, Cheney voted against AIDS funding in the 80s when the epidemic began to spin out of control. If he can blame John Kerry for the Soviet Union, then we can blame Dick Cheney for AIDS.
The Soviet Union might still exist and Saddam Hussein might dominate the Persian Gulf if Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry had been president in recent years, Vice President Dick Cheney said on Saturday.

Help us buy online ads for ENJOYtheDRAFT.com

I'M BUMPING THIS UP :-) WE'RE UP TO $670, PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN

Gang, if the spirit moves you, we'd love some donations to help run online ads promoting our new site ENJOYtheDRAFT.com. As you may recall, I launched this site the other day with two bloggers, Matt Stoller of BOPNews.com and Kyle Shank of AmIPatriotic.com.

The site has done quite well - 60,000 visitors in the first 48 hours, and we've gotten great feedback from students, moms, veterans, you name it. But, we want more people to see the site before the election, and thus we need to buy some Web ads.

So far, we ain't got a dime. We all built the site for free, and we'd like to raise $20,000 to go wild with the ads. If you can spare it, please consider dropping $20 or so in the till (hell, even $5 helps, though more is welcome too), so we can buy the ads soon. This draft issue is a killer for Bush, and I think our site can really do him some damage. Any of you who know my past experiences with these campaigns knows I have a good tracking record raisig hell.

Thanks for any help you can give, you can donate here, or via the box below.
Contribution amount:
$

(We're running this through BlogPac, so you'll see their name if you click through - the donations via this link are earmarked for our campaign.)

Also, if you haven't already, be sure to read our two FAQs on the site, one is quite funny, the other quite scary. Read More......

Oh, that "Al Qaeda wants to kill us before our elections" thing - never mind

Fuckers.
But five weeks after the effort began, U.S. intelligence and law enforcement officials say they have found no direct evidence of an election-related terrorist plot. Authorities also say that a key CIA source who had claimed knowledge of such plans has been discredited, casting doubt on one of the earliest pieces of evidence pointing to a possible attack....

"We've not unearthed anything that would add any credence to talk of an election-related attack," said one senior FBI counterterrorism official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because authorities have been instructed not to talk publicly about the issue before the elections. "You can never say there is not a threat, but we have not found specific evidence of one."

YES, Bush IS responsible for the vaccine shortage

So if the flu shot shortage is the result of a simple "manufacturing error" at a factory in England, as the bush administration says, why is the US the only country with a flu shot shortage?

That's right. The World Health Organization isn't aware of another shortage like this. It's because other countries actually prepare for problems like this. They plan. They buy vaccines from several sources -- just in case something like this happens.

The bush administration knew that this factory had problems in the past. But they did nothing about it. They bought about half of their vaccines from one company. Now thousands more americans will have an illness this year that was completely preventable. Statistics show 36,000 people die from influenza in the US each year. How many more will it be this year? I'm serious. There are lives at stake here, and this administration is responsible.

This administration says they're protecting you from the wolves of terrorism. They say weakness attracts those who would hurt us. But they can't even protect us from the flu. Apparently you have to die in a terrorist attack for this administration to care.

Folks, incompetence IS weakness. Denial IS weakness.

Don't believe the hype

For whatever reason (and I can think of a few, one of which starts with the name "bin") Zarqawi has become the most evil man in the world according to the Bushies. Of course he's a murderer and of course they should eliminate the guy but haven't they already had the chance to do this a few times and they passed on it? Our Pentagon-led media has been hyping Zarqawi for weeks now and if we believe the media spin, this guy has been in hundreds of locations all over Iraq blowing up people every day. The recent news about who is actually behind the attacks tells us something else.

Now, the Pentagon-media is hyping the capture of a "senior al-Zarqawi leader" again to make us believe that they're cutting off the head of the monster. A monster, sure, but al-Zarqawi and his lot are just a small piece in a big puzzle of trouble. The problem is considerably larger than just Zarqawi, so don't believe the hype.

Flu vaccine shortage worrying Americans

This fiasco has impacted Americans of all groups across the board. My own parents struggled to find a doctor who still had shots to give and they said others in their retirement community (outside of Philly) were all scrambling to locate doctors who still had inventory. Besides the elderly this also hits families with young children as well as all of us who have elderly parents. This issue strikes a cord with just about everyone or at least someone in every family so Dem's need to keep pounding on this issue because it highlights the incompetence of the Bush administration.

Bush still connecting 9/11 with Iraq

Burried in this article about the Bush interview with Telemundo:
Bush also expressed gratitude to Hispanic families that lost loved ones in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, adding that they died for a noble cause.

"I would tell them the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the war against those who caused the deaths on 9/11 is necessary," he said.
