many of these tiny tots as is
possible with at least one vitamin
and mineral enriched meal for the
day. The Food 4 Africa project will
focus on feeding the children of
Southern Africa with a unique
blend of cooked maize/soya blend,
containing 19 vitamins and
minerals that are easy to prepare
and will:

• maximise energy levels
• enhance immune system
• promote better concentration
• promote sense of well-being
• alleviate hunger
• Improve schooling

7 Facts of malnutrition and starvation:

  • 1 in 10 Infants die within the first 12 months of life
  • 1 in 5 children suffer from chronic malnutrition
  • More than 12 cases a month of Marasmus or Kwashiorkor are seen in one
    clinic in Alexander
  • 1 in 10 children suffers from severe malnutrition
  • 50% of children have a calcium, iron and zinc deficiency
  • 75% of South Africans, have inadequate access to food
  • More than 1 in 5 children are physically stunted due to malnutrition.
 
 
Grassroots / Community Based Organisations (CBOs) can play a major role in reducing / eradicating the social and economic challenges in South Africa.

Our vision is to feed all children that reside in any centre, whose circumstances place them on or below the poverty line. We need to provide food for the children & educate their caregivers on the preparation and necessity of good nutrition.

We also need to report back on a regular basis to our donors.
