But at least he didn't question those who actually had the courage to serve like John Kerry ... oh, right. Or the "phony soldiers" in Iraq who disagree with his politics.

          It was a pilonidal cyst.
Military truck drivers get them all the time...
They get them fixed at the clinic. They just prescribe antibiotics and at worst make an incision to drain it (outpatient, local anesthesia).

Of course, in this case you'd have to find a doctor willing to get close enough to Rush's rectum. And even if that's overcome, there's still the problem of all those Republican senators and congressmen huddled around it.

That makes me wonder just how long did Limpballs live with that cyst?
Until the draft became a lottery, and he was hoping for a high number?
Until he was too old to be drafted? Until there was an all volunteer Army?

Rush, I dare you to go stand in front of a closed discharge gate at Shasta Dam and then try to remain there until it is fully opened.

That, my good fellow, is the by-product of only one form of "green" energy and it (harnessing the release of stored water) is also one of the oldest forms of energy conversion in all of human history.

When did I say that we did? I was pointing out Cmdr Pill Popper's outright attitude that that (paraphrased) "Futures in solar, wind and green energy didn't exist" and declaring to mindless morons like you (paraphrased) "investing in it is a waste of money" would have gotten this country nowhere if likely investors got cold feet about new technologies introduced throughout history.

If somebody does not invest now, then we should expect those technologies to never exist now. If it weren't for government investment, not even half the country would have electricity. If it weren't for government involvement, the internet and modern computers would not exist. Why should we wait until a private company feels like actually doing something (and only where it would be profitable) before actually getting energy independence?

Yes, highliter, just as soon as the last barrel of oil is pumped out of the Middle East, I'm sure the big petro companies will get busy right away on a replacement technology.

One of the reasons we HAVE government is to look at problems like a dwindling world supply of oil and begin looking for solutions BEFORE that problem arrives. Private companies have no interest in green technology while there is still one drop of oil left in the planet. They just don't think that far ahead. They never have. It is the government's job not only to find the solution or solutions, but to make sure that the necessary changes occur to bring the solution to fruition.

"The government didn't invest in any of those things. Evil corporations produced all those innovations."
The government invests heavily in the National Institutes of Health, whose discoveries in biomedical research have lead to lucrative products for big pharma and big medical.

The government invested in the development of the turbojet engine, which revolutionized aviation.

The ENIAC, the world's first general-purpose digital computer, was sponsored by the U.S. Army's Ballistic Research Laboratory.

Gatorade was invented at the University of Florida, a government-funded institution.

The government played a central role in the development of the ARPANET and the NSFNET, which laid the foundation for the internet that we all use today.

That's demonstrably false, Mr. Limbaugh. Why you yourself, sir, have shown that there are tens of millions of dollars to be made per year just from your own production of steam and hot air. If we just lined up the top ten right wing talk show hosts in front of a turbine for ten minutes, we could stockpile enough energy to abandon coal and oil for a year.

This was GM's mindset. They produced an electric vehicle people liked and wanted to buy. But fossil fuel automobiles were for real men - electric "cars" were for sissies.

Combined with new California regulations that forced GM to do something, they real men struck back by killing the program.

Now, many years later, GM has the Volt. As I understand it, they can't sell it for more than the cost of producing it.
