Marcus Nash was a flop in Denver, where the sum of his NFL production was four catches for 76 yards in his rookie season. He played in a total of 10 games for the Broncos before they traded him to the Dolphins (for fellow 1998 draft disappointment John Avery) in 1999. He was out of the NFL after the 2000 season, but later found success in the Arena Football League, where he was Offensive Player of the Year in 2004.

In the final game of his historic 16-year career, Elway passed for 336 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score as the Broncos won a second consecutive title. Denver netted 457 total yards and scored 17 unanswered first-half points, and Elway, 38, became the oldest Super Bowl MVP.

After missing all of the preseason and last week's opener, rookie Demaryius Thomas made a splash in his professional debut. Thomas, the first wide receiver taken in April's draft, had eight catches for 97 yards, including this 21-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter.

Matt Hasselbeck (8) and the Seahawks fell behind 17-0 by halftime thanks to three first-half turnovers. Seattle finished with four turnovers, including three interceptions by Hasselbeck. Two of Hasselbeck's interceptions came inside the Denver 10-yard line.

Kyle Orton, center, and the Denver Broncos bounced back from a Week 1 loss and dominated the Seattle Seahawks to win their 11th consecutive home opener. Orton threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns, and the Broncos never trailed.

David Garrard had plenty to be happy about after leading the Jacksonville Jaguars to a victory over the Denver Broncos. Garrard completed 16-of-21 passes for 170 yards and three touchdowns, setting a career high with a 138.9 quarterback rating. Many Jaguars said the win was huge to quell talk of the struggling team's possible relocation.

The game was also notable for the debut of Tim Tebow, a first-round draft pick and Jacksonville native for whom many Jaguars fans clamored. Tebow was a nonfactor, though, in his first profession regular season game, rushing twice for just two yards and not attempting a pass.

Kassim Osgood broke a 17-all tie with a 24-yard touchdown catch midway through the fourth quarter. It proved to be the game-winner and was Osgood's first touchdown catch since 2004, and he celebrated so wildly he was penalized 15 yards for excessive celebration. The penalty gave the Broncos good field position on their ensuing drive, but the Jaguars defense came through.

The 18th pick of the 2009 draft didn't bag one quarterback as a rookie. He'll have to become a much more effective hunter on a defense reeling from the loss of last season's sack king, Elvis Dumervil.

The three-time Pro Bowler, a two-time Super Bowl champion, shares the mark for longest field goal in league history (63 yards) with Tom Dempsey, set in 1998.

Thirty-three of Dawkins' career interceptions came in a Philadelphia uniform. He was drafted by the Eagles in the second round out of Clemson in 1996 and became a starter his rookie year. With the Broncos in 2009, he was selected to the Pro Bowl for the eighth time. Seven of those selections came in the decade.

He made his mark in the 2000s with seven of his nine career Pro Bowl appearances as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1993-2003) and the Denver Broncos (2004-2007). He was drafted by Tampa Bay in the third round in 1993 out of Stanford. He had 26 career interceptions, but as a 6-2, 220-pound strong safety his trademark was his strong tackling.

One of the NFL's fastest middle linebackers in his day, Wilson (6-0, 240) quickly made a mark as a leader and big-time producer for the Broncos defense. He recorded the first of five consecutive 100-plus tackle seasons in 2000, his second NFL campaign.

After the Broncos' upset loss to the Redskins on Sunday, Denver finds itself in a tie for the AFC West divison lead with the San Diego Chargers. This was made possible by the Broncos' three-game slide and the Chargers' four-game winning streak, including two in a row over the Cowboys and Eagles. Now Rivers and Co. will travel to the Mile High City in hopes of doing what was unthinkable just a few weeks ago -- gaining sole possession of first place in the AFC West.
