Salon Media Group, Inc. (Salon.com) is hiring a Design Director for its New York or San Francisco office.
As Design Director at Salon Media Group, you will oversee the daily look, information architecture and user experience across all properties: Salon, mobile Salon, newsletters, The Grid, Open Salon, and 3rd-party channels like Flipboard — as well as UX within the CMS. You must be able to work seamlessly with editorial, sales and business development, collaborating on everything from special editorial projects to ads and sales materials, and to collaborate with the tech team to make all new user-facing development live up to Salon’s design template and your vision. You will also supervise our small art-desk team — managing people, resources and processes where daily story art is concerned.
