Yesterday (Dec. 29), TMZ reported that Jay was being sued for a whopping $18,000, after failing to pay workers' compensation insurance to cover the employees working at his TriBeCa crib for three months in 2009. According to the lawsuit, after the brief lapse, Jay made the proper payments, re-instituted his coverage plan and the issue was resolved, though the $18,000 debt remained outstanding.
The NY Post reports, however, that the 'Watch the Throne' MC is off the hook today (Dec. 31), and that it was all the work of a clerical error. Though the Workers Comp Board had apparently secured a Supreme Court judgement on Nov. 22, Jay's representatives claim that the payment lapse simply never occurred.
