Israel’s military rabbis just gave out educational packets to soldiers for Hanukkah, “The Festival of Jewish Heroism,” in which Jerusalem’s Temple Mount was miraculously scrubbed clean of the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic holy site. The IDF calls criticism of its editing "ridiculous and biased." How do you make a people disappear? Let us count the ways.

All (18) GOP eyes now on New Hampshire, where lawmakers are about to consider a GOP bill requiring new legislation to find its direct origin in an 800-year-old, English feudal barons' declaration of rights - the Magna Carta of 1215. Sponsor Lucien Vita admitted he needs to "bone up" on the charter, but "it's a document that still functions," which is evidently more than you can say about the New Hampshire state legislature.

"We shall straightway return the son of Llewelin and all the Welsh hostages. - the Magna Carta

Here's the coolest, possibly life-saving PSA on CPR you'll ever see, starring U.K. tough-guy actor Vinnie Jones, a coupla goodfellas and the Bee Gees. Improbably, from the British Heart Foundation.

New York's City Council has joined Montana and a growing number of states and cities in declaring that corporations are not, Romney and company notwithstanding, people. Bravo, and more here.

"Human beings are persons, and it is an affront to the inviolable dignity of our species that courts have created a legal fiction which forces people - human beings - to share fundamental, natural rights with soulless creatures of government." - Montana ruling

The GOP circus train has lurched away from Iowa, where Romney won a mean and meaningless fight with a whopping 8 votes, or 6 fewer than he got in 2008. The best take on the spectacle comes from the inimitable animators at Taiwan's NMA. Runner-up is the horse race from Slate. And if, entirely understandly, you could never bear to hear just how out there Santorum is, it might be time.

With little media coverage, the NYPD blithely continues its crackdown on OWS and free speech - particularly when used to protest the restriction of free speech and other rights under the National Defense Authorization Act. Police evicted and arrested those livestreaming NDAA protests, and arrested a protester leading a mic-check against the NDAA, which evidently constitutes "annoyance," aka "free speech."

Now, for just $19.95 (plus $7.95 shipping) you can commemorate the (probably illegal) assassination of Osama bin Laden with a brass (fighting off metaphors here) coin engraved with the Twin Towers et al and "Justice Has Been Done." You also get a ton of other crap. This is (reportedly) real. Woe is us.
