I think that the elimination of collective bargaining is also to give the tools as he said to school districts to attempt to balance their slashed budgets by getting rid of experienced (each year of experience moves you up on the pay scale) higher paid teachers (tenured) and replace them with the lower paid inexperienced teachers. This will help school districts in 2 ways, 1: lower wages to pay out and 2: inexeprienced, non-tenured teachers don’t argue with adminstration about budget spending and what’s best for students. Tenure serves a very valid purpose in the world of education since it is meant to be a collaborative environment rather than a competitive one. If you create a climate of competition among teachers, it can only harm students. Tenure is necessary to maintain a collaborative climate between administration and staff who willingly give of their time to help, or even defend the newbies in which improves student experience. If teachers feel safe to discuss their weaknesses with collegues, they gain insight and new approaches to problems they face and rectify these more easily..

The closest thing to a free market that exists right now is the drug trade in Mexico. It’s a market that exists completely outside government regulation. If government gave up regulating everything, markets would eventually start looking like the Mexican drug trade and corporations would look like the drug cartels.
