Today on Radio B.O.N.K., we take a moment to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the birth of Bababooey.
That’s right, kids, 20 years ago today, a young Boy Gary Della’bate stepped into the studio of The Howard Stern Show and became a legend. It’s always amazed me how one silly slip of the tongue has turned into a lifetime for that guy.
We’re playing the segment at the top of the hour every hour after the news. An unusual programming choice for Radio B.O.N.K. We do use bits and pieces from the show, hopefully in the spirit of fair use, but we’ve rarely broadcast an entire segment.
So, a few plugs: Tune into Howard 101 at 7 p.m. this evening for the 20th anniversary special, hosted by Sal the Stockbroker. And remember, They Call Me Bababooey is available for pre-order.
I missed the blog.
It’s nuts. Because I got more blogs than Jamaica’s got mangoes. But without this blog, the Radio B.O.N.K. project seemed incomplete.

I really like that Kool and the Gang track, King of Funky. But goodness. It’s long. I was listening to it last evening here on the B.O.N.K., and I felt sort of “I spent a week there one afternoon” ish. Lord. So, off it comes.
How about some Captain Beefheart? A squid eating dough… By the way, at 95 tracks, Radio B.O.N.K. now has a nearly five hour playlist.
I have to go vote today. I promised Arlington County School Board member Sally Baird I’d vote for Karla Hagan. It seems so very nerd-like, considering I don’t have children in Arlington County schools. But WTF. I vote every damned chance I get. So off I go.
