Incontinent Douchebag Bob Novak: GOP congress hates Bush
03.10.06 (8:33 am)   [edit]
When Democrats criticize President Stupid, Republicans accuse them of hating the president, which is the same as hating America. Writing for the ultra-rightwing website Human Events OnlineHuman Events Online, GOP propagandist Robert Novak chronicles the growing tide of Bush-hatred among Republican members of Congress:
Republican congressmen are tired of being bullied and ignored by a heavy-handed executive, and they are playing hardball with their President. Given his unpopularity, many of them find it useful to distance themselves from Bush anyway. In short, Bush has little leverage left within his own party, and his transformation to lame-duck status is all but complete.

In short, Bush has little leverage left within his own party, and his transformation to lame-duck status is all but complete. Republicans in Congress is are arraying themselves against their Dear Leader across the board.

Bush's approval rating falls to yet another new low
03.10.06 (8:20 am)   [edit]

Just when you think Dumbya's approval rating can't go any lower... it does: 63% of Americans now hate America.

Rethugs running scared as Chimpy McLiar's numbers are now measured in nanocytes.

More and more people, particularly Republicans, disapprove of the popular, straight-shootin' war preznit's performance, question his character and no longer consider him a strong leader against terrorism, according to an AP-Ipsos poll documenting one of the bleakest points of his presidency. The poll suggests that most Americans wonder whether Bush is up to the job. The survey, conducted Monday through Wednesday of 1,000 people, found that just 37 percent approve of his overall performance. That is the lowest of his presidency. Personally, far fewer Americans consider Bush likable, honest, strong and dependable than they did just after his re-election campaign.

Fun fact: President Clinton enjoyed public approval numbers in the mid 60s at the same stage in his second term.

Why does George W Bush hate America?

Local residents blacklisted, ejected from Soviet   Bush  Bamboozlepalooza tour    official taxpayer-funded "private event"   town hall meeting.

"There we were - three people who had personally picked up tickets from Republican Congressman Bob Beauprez's office and went to a presidential event. But as we entered, we were told that we had been "ID'ed" and were warned that any disruption would get us arrested.

"After being seated in the audience we were forcibly removed before the President arrived, even though we had not been disruptive. We were shocked when told that this presidential event was a "private event" and were commanded to leave.

"The Secret Service revealed that we were "ID'ed" when local Republican staffers saw a bumper sticker on the car we drove which said "No More Blood For Oil." Evidently, the free speech expressed on one bumper sticker is cause enough to eject three citizens from a presidential event."  http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/3/29/11365 1/512" title="http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/3/29/11365 1/512" target="_blank"http://www.dailykos.com/story...

Bush's 300 billion-dollar boondoggle
01.25.05 (6:35 am)   [edit]
"A record amount that shatters initial estimates."

Misunderestimating:  the Bushies have asked for another $80 billion in new funding for their Iraqi fiasco, on top of the $25 billion in emergency spending already approved.

Defense analyst John Pike said the Pentagon might need even more money later this year "because everything is so very, very fucked up  we just don't know the rate at which the insurgency will grow or subside."

Oh, and the misadministration is also considering including $1 billion to $2 billion to construct a new US embassy complex in Baghdadpresumably to protect against thrown flowers.

In a related story, the boy king, after saying he would honor an Iraqi request to withdraw, now says the US will keep 120,000 troops in Iraq for next 2 years

Coming on the heels of the record-breaking, $100-million clergy sex abuse settlement in California last week, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Spokane filed for bankruptcy on Monday, saying it did not have the money to cover lawsuits filed against the clergy. Spokane is the third Catholic diocese to file for bankruptcy recently due to sexual abuse scandals.

Evangelicals to repubs: fire those homos!
12.07.04 (5:47 am)   [edit]

Religious rightwingnuts are starting to get their morally superior genitals in a bunch over all the homosexuals working in the senior ranks of the Republican party, AmericaBlog reports.

In fact, they're coming right out and saying that the GOP should "not employ key personnel who don't hold the conservative views that the party promotes."

"If someone is going to run the day-to-day operations for the Republican apparatus to elect US senators across the country, then dog-gone-it, it better not be somebody who practices a lifestyle that is diametrically opposed to the evangelical Christian base that delivered George W. Bush and the Republicans in the Senate the victory they saw in November."

Did Bush lie about the Fallujah attack to influence the US election?
12.02.04 (5:02 am)   [edit]

Amid a debate over the use of misinformation by the U.S. military, the Pentagon says it is investigating an October incident in which a Marine spokesman gave CNN misleading information about an attack on the Iraqi city of Falluja.

In an October 14 interview from Iraq, 1st Lt. Lyle Gilbert announced that a major U.S. military operation was under way in Falluja -- three weeks before the offensive that eventually recaptured the city began.

A senior Pentagon official told CNN that Gilbert's remarks were "technically true but misleading." It was an attempt to get CNN  "to report something not true," the official said.    http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/12/02/pentago n.media/index.html" title="http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/12/02/pentago n.media/index.html" target="_blank"http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/12...

A group of 38 Shiite Muslim political parties broke off negotiations Tuesday with backers of Iraq's most influential Shiite cleric, claiming a candidate list under discussion was dominated by religious extremists.

"We don't want to be an extension of Iran inside Iraq," said Hussein al-Mousawi, spokesman for the Shiite Political Council. "We found out that the top 10 names in the list are extremist Shiite Islamists who believe in the rule of religious clerics."
