REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS - PACIFICA ELECTIONS

The Pacifica Foundation (Pacifica) is a 501(c)(3) membership-based radio broadcasting
organization with approximately 95,000 members nationwide, affiliated with stations in New York, Houston, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and Berkeley.

On or about March 1, 2012, Pacifica will begin a process that will involve ten separate
elections wherein members in four of its five signal areas will elect nine (9) listener delegates and three (3) staff delegates to serve on Local Station Boards. Members of the fifth station will elect eighteen (18) listener-member delegates and six (6) staff delegates.

KPFK launches a Friday afternoon comedy block featuring the political comedy of David Feldman, Jimmy Dore, and Lalo Alcaraz; Al Jazeera News moves to weekdays at 2pm; and a new auxiliary transmitter is installed on Mount Wilson

Pacifica Radio KPFK announces a series of changes to its mid-afternoon weekday schedule that begins today and includes the move of Truthdig Radio to Thursdays at 4pm. Produced by the team at the award-winning website Truthdig.com, each week the radio show features segments on some of the stories found on the website, alongside original reports generated for the radio show.
