Today marked the first day that Rep. John Boehner takes the lead in the new 2011, Republican controlled lower house.
Republicans gained more than five dozen seats, and will control the House 242-193 in the 112th Congress. In a show of just how much Republicans’ numbers have grown, they spilled across the aisle into the traditional Democratic seats on the chamber’s East side.
Many within the Tea Party Movement have waited to see what the first few acts of the new congress will be, and most were surprised to find that the GOP will almost immediately lead a charge to repeal Obamacare.
