Last weekend, "The Grey" pulled away from the rest of the pack to claim the top spot at the box office. But Liam Neeson will have to flex even more muscles if he wants to survive against this weekend's contenders.

Three major releases are going wide this weekend, and in some way, shape, or form all three involve the supernatural, though in decidedly different ways. There's a ghost story, a movie about telekinetic super powers, and a movie that uses the word "miracle" in the title! With so many super selections, we boil down the choices below along with what kind of fans will enjoy each flick. Whatever you decide, here's hoping you have an out-of-this world experience.

    • Ads for 1978's "Superman: The Movie" proclaimed "You'll believe a man can fly."  This past weekend, a very different kind of promotion for a new superhero film actually did convince some New Yorkers that human beings had taken to the skies.

What looked to be three people were spotted flying around the skies of lower Manhattan last Friday, causing a lot of double-takes and dropped jaws from onlookers.  But while it appeared to be a sight straight out of a comic book, it was actually a clever bit of viral marketing for this week's upcoming film "Chronicle."  Those aren't people in the air, but some very intricately designed radio-controlled airplanes.  Watch the video of their flight, and keep reading to learn how it was done.

Maria White is ecstatic that Yahoo! joined with the Sundance Film Festival for the first time this year to stream nine short films from the fest on Y! • Evangeline Lilly Reveals Her ‘Hobbit’ Preparations

Evangeline LillyEvangeline Lilly (Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage)

Evangeline Lilly spent six seasons stranded on an island evading smoke monsters, polar bears, and other dangers on the show "Lost." But those threats pale in comparison to the orcs, trolls, and dragons of Middle Earth.

Lilly is currently in the midst of shooting "The Hobbit," director Peter Jackson's return to the world from the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. She'll be playing an elf named Tauriel, a character not found in J.R.R. Tolkien's original book.

I was able to speak to Ms. Lilly on the phone from her home in Hawaii about her last film, "Real Steel," which is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. But I did get the chance to ask her about her work on "The Hobbit," and she said that preparing for the role has been different than anything else she's ever done before.

    • Photo by Pascal Le Segretain/Getty ImagesDiane Kruger could look good in a burlap sack. So imagine what she looks like in a silver and sheer dress. Short answer: A lot better than just good.

The stunning star, 35, attended the Sidication Gala dinner in Paris on Thursday night and sent heads turning and cameras flashing while walking the red carpet. The asymmetrical gown by Erdem showed off Kruger's legs and arms. Style Bistro named the outfit its "Look of the Day." It was a bold choice, but, not surprisingly, Kruger pulled it off.

Indeed, Kruger has a history of making daring fashion moves. But she's not perfect. Some of her outfits have been more successful than others. E! Online called out Kruger for a recent ensemble (not the silver dress which is above reproach). And there was the time at the 2005 Golden Globes, when Kruger wore a tummy-bearing gown. As she put it in an interview with Stylist magazine, "Well, maybe that wasn't the right occasion for that dress."

But whatever she wears, you can be sure that she picked it

    • Indie Roundup: ‘Declaration of War’

Photo: Sundance Selects"Declaration of War" — France's selection for an Academy Award this year — opens with a scruffily handsome young man who bares a passing resemblance to James Franco locking eyes with a pretty lass from across the room. He throws a peanut towards her and she catches it in her mouth. They meet, kiss, and realize with disbelief that they are named Romeo (Jeremie Elkaim) and Juliette (Valerie Donzelli). "Are we doomed to a terrible fate," she muses.

    • Cooper, Saldana, Weinstein Dance the Indie Film Dance in Park City

Photo: Sonia Recchia/Getty ImagesHere on Main Street in Park City, Utah, standing across from the Egyptian Theater, it's gotten relatively quiet. The mood is no longer that of a frat party, although even as late as yesterday crowds stood outside of the Acura Lounge crying "Bradley! Bradley!" as Cooper stepped into the swirling snow flurries. With new cavalier facial hair, Cooper exited a series of interviews for "The Words," leaving his diminutive co-star Zoe Saldana behind. Couple alert: no visible canoodling there.
