Nate Tanguay scored 14 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, helping Mukwonago rally for a victory Feb. 3 over Catholic Memorial and maintain its hold on a tie for first place in the Classic 8.

Grapplers win Classic 8 title
Despite eight conference champions in 14 flights for rival Arrowhead, it was the Indians who emerged with the Classic 8 Conference wrestling championship Saturday at Waukesha South. For the third time in four years, MHS took the crown after the Warhawks won the regular-season dual between the two programs.

New Berlin Eisenhower came up with clutch shots and sent the Pewaukee girls basketball team to a heartbreaking double overtime loss in the game of the year in the Woodland Conference.

Makenna Thomas scored off a faceoff in overtime, lifting the Arrowhead girls hockey team to a 2-1 win over state-ranked Kettle Moraine on Tuesday. The Glacier had defeated the Warhawks in two previous meetings.

Faith takes Mukwonago woman overseas
Faith was a driving force in Noel Albiniak's life as she made her way through Mukwonago High School (MHS) and participated in the school's Fellowship of Christian Athletes group. So when graduation came in 2009 and Albiniak enrolled in classes at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, her mom asked her, "Is there another outlet to keep your faith going?" That's when Albiniak found a world of friendship, love and faith through UW-La Crosse's Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) group.

Man faces charges for stalking woman
Village of Pewaukee - A 50-year-old Village of Pewaukee man allegedly has been relentlessly stalking his former girlfriend, who moved out of state in the fall of 2010. The man has been harassing her via phone calls and emails, according to police.

MHS dance team claims title
Over the past several years the Mukwonago High School dance team has placed in the top five at state competition for both poms and kick, but was always just shy of a state title. All that changed in La Crosse on Feb. 4 as the Mukwonago dancers claimed their first state championship in six years.
Shooting for the future
Setting up the perfect shot takes skill. It requires focus, accuracy and the right alignment; something that Mukwonago High School (MHS) senior Sean Lenz is adept at, both on and off the field. It is this ability to take great soccer and photo shots that has landed Lenz local and national recognition, and a spot at a dream college.
Residents question Eagle police chief's side job
The Village of Eagle - The Village Board met in closed session Jan. 21 to discuss, among other things, concerns raised by some village residents about the ethics of Village Police Chief Russ Ehlers' private consulting service Earn Your Badge. Ehlers has created a series of videos giving police candidates advice on how to get hired, including one on how to pass the pre-employment polygraph test.(4)

Trawicki names Misko new police director
Village of Sussex - Waukesha County Sheriff's Lt. Torin Misko began his new assignment this week as Village of Sussex Police Services Director replacing Capt. James Gumm who was reassigned as commander of the sheriff's department second shift after being promoted from lieutenant to captain late last year.
Sussex man pleads guilty to thefts
Waukesha - A Sussex man will be sentenced Feb. 16 for a series of thefts last year.

Man, 19, nabbed with drugs in car
Waukesha - A City of Delafield police officer who used night-vision glasses was able to watch what appeared to be suspicious drug activity in a hotel parking lot and it led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Town of Delafield man.
