God and Evil
I was reminded this morning by Rush Limbaugh that this country was founded by spiritual men of a Judeo-Christian background and believed they had God’s protection. They signed their names to The Declaration of Independence under these last words:
And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
You could argue that the Constitution establishes a new nation in which we have secured from God the Blessings of Liberty.
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Does it not follow that based on our continued good behavior we have a nation protected by God and God’s blessed Liberty/
Gradually, this nation has turned away from God. He is no longer allowed in our schools. Just today the “The U.S. Air Force has provoked outrage by removing a Latin reference to God on one of its logos after complaints from a military atheist group.”
God has not abandoned us. We have abandoned Him. Now it’s a battle between God and evil.
