The media’s anti-Romney sentiment took a real kick to the nuts tonight. Two weeks ago Romney was being written off as a dead man walking. Even though Romney has almost twice as many delegates as the other three Republican candidates combined, the media was insisting that he was on the ropes and going down hard. So now he wins in Michigan and snags the majority of the delegates and the media is insisting, “boy, Romney is on life support.”
Got news for you kids–the Obama team is busting its ass to beat Romney now because they know he can wax Barky’s ass good come the fall. Why? Massachusetts health care. The Massachusetts health care reform championed by Romney is actually doing well among the citizens of Massachusetts and is popular. So Romney is perfectly positioned to excoriate Obama for doing it wrong.
Romney’s prior executive experience will also be tough for Obama to counter.
That’s why the media had a major boner yearning for Santorum to kill Romney at the polls. Whoops!! Read the rest

Santorum is politically clueless. He had a shot at beating Romney in Michigan and being perceived as an alternative. But not now. He may very well win Michigan tonight, but it will be a tainted, tarnished victory. Why? Because he appealed to Democrats to vote for him and stop Romney. What a goddamn idiot!
Had Santorum won this thing on his own without appealing to the Dems he would have had some bragging rights. But not now. Yeah, he’ll win some delegates but so will Romney. The difference? Romney will be able to discredit any Santorum edge as a product of Democrat interference. And why do the Dems want to interfere? They recognize that Santorum is a Christian mullah running for head of the religious right madrassa in Chief. Dems want Santorum as the opponent to Obama. ‘
Santorum is the only hope left for Dems hoping to preserve the second term of Obama. Read the rest
GROAN! “Michael Moore: ‘My Democratic Friends Will Vote For Santorum’…“: “I have to tell you a lot of my Democratic friends will vote for Santorum in something they are calling Operation Hilarity,” Michael Moore said. … According to the Daily Kos, who launched this campaign, Operation Hilarity is “an opportunity for Democrats to actually help prolong this election … because we’ve seen that the longer this drags out, the worse it is for [Romney and Santorum] and the best it is for Barack Obama.”
The Hill is a thoroughly prim and proper news source, which makes this headline and clip all the more stunning and sickening. I swear by all that is holy that the following is not satire:
Santorum blames 2008 mortgage crisis on $4-per-gallon gas
It is staggering. In one sentence, Rick Santorum has found the complete explanation for the catastrophic mortgage crisis that mere mortals have written thousands of pages about, including references to Freddie, Fannie, Wall Street, hedge funds, “too big to fail,” AIG, Lehmann Brothers, Bear Stearn, the SEC, Hank Paulsen, Tim Geithner, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, sales of homes to people unqualified to pay for a mortgage (and the liberals who pushed that insane agenda), and on and on and on and on. Read the rest

As a long time fan of Hillary, I am troubled and distressed by her conduct of U.S. foreign policy on behalf of Barack Obama. This is more than a dust up over “policy” differences.
Let’s start with the abominable “apology” by Barack Obama, General Allen and others over the burning of desecrated Korans confiscated from prisoners in Afghanistan. Here’s Hillary’s take:
She is not a dumb or ignorant person, but she is dead wrong. No amount of saying, “I’m sorry” and prostrating ourselves before seething masses of radical muslims will quell the outrage swirling through Afghanistan and the rest of the muslim world. Worth noting that Sunni and Shias alike, who normally are at each others’ throats, are taking full advantage of this situation to press every complaint they can dredge up about the U.S. presence in Afghanistan. UPDATE: The most beautiful moments of last night’s show, at the end of the post.
Ever since I can remember, I have loved watching the Academy Awards. True confession: I even enjoy the frivolous pre-Awards Red Carpet appearances by the nominees. The Academy Awards have always been “appointment TV.” Until now.
Last night’s production was boring. Billy Crystal looked like he’d been made up by a funeral parlor beautician and, unless I missed it, didn’t say a single funny thing all night. Worst of all were the awards. Read the rest
I’m not even going to bother to find links to Santorum’s quotes because I’ve heard them at least 10 times already today, and probably so have you. Nor will I give him “air time” on this blog by posting a video of his insane drivel. Santorum is one of the top reasons I am going to drag my infirmed body to the caucus soon — me, who never thought I’d darken the door of a GOP caucus. I’m speaking of these two disgusting comments:
1) Santorum said that John F. Kennedy’s HISTORIC speech on the separation of church and state made him “want to vomit.” WTF? Kennedy’s speech was critically important because of all the Americans, including my parents, who were terrified that putting a Catholic in the White House would mean that the Pope would run our country. And now, all these decades later, Santorum’s Catholicism is NEVER held against him, in good measure THANKS to JFK’s having paved the way by assuring frightened Protestants they need not fear a Catholic in the White House. And THIS is the crap that Santorum spews against a WAR HERO who stood up to the Catholic haters and who literally gave his life for his country. I have tears in my eyes because I am so upset by Santorum’s black-hearted, hate-filled speech.
2) Santorum said that Obama is a “snob” for wishing that all young people could go to college. Then he bashed colleges everywhere as places where liberal professors will poison the minds of impressionable youth. WTF? Uh, I went to one of the most liberal elite universities in the late 1960s, where the far-left English professor was the first in university history to lose his tenure for inciting violence and far more. And where one of the most popular classes was taught by Michael Novak, to this day a major thinker for conservatism. Read the rest

POTUS Obama? His delusion in the Moslem Brothers means that he may vouchsafe a UN/NATO “protect” operation. … continued below …
Briefed these hours on the Syria scenario. Rough business.
The Obama administration (POTUS personally) is backing the Moslem Brothers at 1000%. Brothers out of Cairo and other capitals are running the Homs/Hama provocation operation.
Assad regime aiming to shut down the Brothers pronto before NATO/US/Turkey intervention. The Brothers are running psyops with pictures of massacre and so forth.
Understand that Assad left in power (commanding the minorities of the region: Alawites, Druze, Kurds, Christians) is the expedient answer for Amman, Jerusalem, Moscow. Tehran is not losing.
Assume pronto that the nuke arms race in the region is underway. Read the rest

* BUMPED UP *
The Obama Administration–from CENTCOM to the White House–has botched the entire response to the report that Korans taken from prisoners suspected of terrorism were burned. I don’t care whether this was intentional or a mistake. The Administration should have kept its damn collective-mouth shut. There was no compelling reason to admit to this. Should they have lied? HELL YES!! I do not believe we should deliberately antagonize or attack another religion, including Islam. But in this case the Korans that were torched had been confiscated from inmates who had written on the pages of a book Muslims consider holy. Muslims had already desecrated their so-called “holy” book.
The initial reports about this incident should have been ignored and denied. This is not a goddamn court case. No one is under oath. The U.S. military and the Obama Administration should have lied. They should have insisted that the Koran aka Quran was not burned. But no. We decided to admit to this error and launch an apology tour. WHAT HORSESHIT!!
The Taliban urged Afghans Thursday to target foreign military bases and kill Westerners in retaliation for burnings of copies of the Quran at NATO’s main base in the country as a third day of violent protests began.
Thousands of demonstrators gathered across the country, some chanting “Death to America!”, Reuters witnesses and officials said. In eastern Kabul, hundreds of youths threw rocks at police, who fired shots into the air to try disperse the crowds. Read the rest
Peter Wehner, a Republican who served three presidential administrations, most recently under George W. Bush, said in an article about Santorum that social conservatism must be discussed in positive terms, as promoting human dignity, “rather than declaring a series of forbidden acts that are leading us to Gomorrah.” Wehner is a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, a conservative think tank where Santorum was a fellow after he lost his U.S. Senate seat.
“A wise observer told me years ago,” Wehner wrote on Commentary magazine’s website, “that for a politician to be seen as the aggressor in the culture wars is the quickest way to lose them.”
A few months ago, I wrote a series of articles (you’ll find the links below) about a blogger who calls himself “Ulsterman,” and a recurring feature of his blog, interviews with a mysterious long-time Democratic operative, known only as “White House Insider.” WHI pops up every few weeks on Ulsterman’s blog, sharing his latest insights as an anti-Obama Democrat who claims to be working closely with other old school Dems to prevent Obama from being re-elected.
As with anything in the blogosphere, there is no proof that WHI is a real person with the credentials and experiences he claims, and indeed he could be simply a literary device created by Ulsterman. For that matter, we don’t know that Ulsterman is a real person either. In fact, I may not be a real person myself. Even my own wife, if she really exists, won’t tell me if I’m real!
At any rate, Ulsterman just published the first segment of his most recent interview with the Insider, and it was quite an eye-opener for me. So I thought I should share it with you folks, in case you don’t read Ulsterman yourself, because you only read blogs that are written by real people, not figments of someone else’s imagination, like me.
OK, so here’s the latest from Ulsterman and WHI (link at end): Insider claims the Obama Team is helping to create the rise and fall of these Republican challengers to Mitt Romney. He calls it a “Pump and Dump,” and here Ulsterman (UM) gets schooled: Read the rest
I got an e-mail from Romney’s headquarters about my state’s caucus. Good.
ALSO GOOD, particularly since I had some key questions: Included in the e-mail was, “If you have any questions, or if would like to volunteer to help our campaign, don’t hesitate to call us at (xxx) xxx-3148 or email TeamXX@mittromney.com.” (I’m removing info that would reveal the state in which I live. Why? Read to the end.)
NOT GOOD: The telephone number is “not in service at this time.” Yes, I have tried four times, both yesterday and today. And, I’ve written an e-mail to the Team, but not received a reply — I’m willing to give them more than a day to reply, of course. But still …
When I moved three years ago, I never got a new voter registration card. At that time, I called the county auditor and was able to change my address over the phone (which gave me doubts about the security of that practice). We vote by mail exclusively, and I always get my ballots, so it’s turned out not to have been an issue. But now I need that precinct # so that I can begin to find the caucus location.
I searched several sites but could not find a precinct map. Finally, I called the county auditor’s office and they gave me my precinct # and offered to mail me a voter’s registration card.
Now, I needed to find the location of the caucus for my precinct. Read the rest
