Mu.nu down, not just Jawa Report

It looks like a DNS issue as all mu.nu blogs -- including Ace of Spades HQ -- are down.

It's not you, it's me. We're not sure why The Jawa Report is down, but we do suspect foul play. Sure, we always suspect foul play -- specifically, a denial of service (DOS) attack by the online jihadis -- but since we've been the victim of organized DOS attacks in the past, it's kind of hard not to go there.

The other possibility is that Slu posted that long awaited Sarah Palin wedding night home video porn over at Ace's, crashing our mutually shared server.

So, we'll be back up, well, whenever we kick the cyberjihadis ass or whenever Ace takes down the porn.

Al Qaeda Retaliates Against Jawa?

The Jawa Report is currently being blamed for thwarting al Qaeda's much heralded 9/11 anniversary video. Our main website is currently down. We suspect this is in retaliation for those reports. We cannot confirm this as of 9/15/2008 11:50 time, but that is our suspicion. The timing just stinks.

When al Fajr's Online Jihadis Attack

Looks like our main page is under a denial of service attack. Yesterday, al Qaeda's main online support forum mentioned the Jawa Report several times. Because they also hotlinked some images from our server, I decided to have a little fun with them switch out the images they were displaying at the forum with a couple of pics I knew they wouldn't appreciate. So, today we're under attack and because it comes on the heels of a somewhat public dispute with al Qaeda I'm guessing that they are the culprits.

We'll be back up soon. That's a promise.

Cybeterrorists Attack The Jawa Report

Islamic cyberterrorists have attacked The Jawa Report.

A Distributed Denial of Service attack was directed at our site by Turkish Islamists irritated at a series of posts we ran making fun of the violence that erupted on the heels of a false story claiming that guards at Guantanamo Bay had flushed a Koran down a toilet. Those posts were later discovered by a Turkish Islamist who then posted links about them at an Islamic chat room.

From there the word spread and at least a dozen Turkish language websites began discussing our cavalier attitude toward their holy book. But it was not the Quran that the post was meant to mock, rather it was Muslim reaction to criticisms of it.

With the Jawa Report now effectively shut down, I again return to the main question posed by the tongue-in-cheek Koran desecration post: Can Islamic societies be tolerant of religious criticism?

This attack is evidence that the answer, sadly, is probably no.

There is not a single Islamic country that would allow me, a non-Muslim, to criticize the Quran or Mohammed. There is not a single Islamic country that would allow me, a non-Muslim, to openly try to convert Muslims to another religion. Not. A. Single. One.

Yes, many Muslim lands were more tolerant of religious dissent at one time, but this is not that time. We do not live in the 14th century. Today Islam is the most intolerant religion in the world.

If I cannot criticize your holy book, if I cannot call tell you how I truly feel about your holy men, if I am not allowed to try to convince you to leave your faith, then I am not truly free.

If you cannot tolerate the above, you are my enemy. If you cannot tolerate the above, you are the common enemy of freedom.

Hostages Rescued in Iraq!

A great day for those of us following hostages in Iraq closely!! Three peace activists from the Christian Peacemakers Team held hostage in Iraq have been freed by Coalition Forces. Ironically, the CPT activists were in Iraq to document alleged human rights abuses by U.S. mililtary forces. The three rescued are Canadians James Loney and Harmeet Singh Sooden, and Briton Norman Kember.

American Tom Fox was found murdered on the streets of Baghdad last week by those the CPT claimed were simply 'insurgents' and who the CPT clearly believed were responding to Western aggression.

Zarqawi claims Jordan attack, now officially out of beheading business

Zarqawi has now claimed the recent botched attack in Jordan. Does this mean he's out of the beheading business for good? Which is odd, you know, because I was always taught to stick to what you're good at.
