| Wow...so I randomly stumbled upon this community and it seems pretty amazing. I wish I had found it a year ago but I guess better late then never. So as I was reading through all the posts I honestly feel like I could reply to most of them. I just finished a world tour and I am just starting to document everywhere I have been, I still have a lot to write but I've finished the first few countries!
I did New York, India, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, England, Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, Spain and...I think thats it, might have missed a few. But I have also been to Peru and most of the caribbean and I'm from Toronto. I'm more then happy to answer any questions or to help people out. Living out of a backpack for a year has definitely taught me to budget and still I managed to really enjoy my travels. If you have any questions or want any advice on anything, read my journal or give me a shout!
Hope you enjoy your travels as much as I did :) |

I'm looking to go to Peru at the end of August. I am in my mid 20s, female, and would be traveling solo. I've traveled throughout Western Europe before, many portions by myself, but have gotten mixed reviews about how safe this would be in Peru.
Thoughts from ladies who have also done it?

I am in the market for a new tent and noticed this Eureka Tetragon 9 Family 9-Foot by 9-Foot Four-Person Tent is on sale today only for $94.99. It has all the features I'm looking for in a tent, I was just wondering if anyone has used this brand of tent (of this exact model) before? Is it a decent tent? |

Another chance to get tickets are numerous actions of the official sponsors of UEFA, which will start massively in the coming months.

In Kiev will be created the first Ukrainian park of modern sculpture and installation "Kiev Fashion Park", which we sincerely hope will be one of the favorite places of Kiev, will create new tourist destinations for visitors, as well as complement the look of the capital, giving it the traits of modernity. The first such park will appear in the spring of this year at the Landscape mall.

Hi all
Am I completely crazy to want to travel to Norway in the middle of February? I'm looking at 18th-25th/26th and would be landing in Hagueshund (so I can spend 2-3 days at the fjords), and then flying out of Oslo a week or so later after getting the train over and spending 2-3 days there. I have the half term school holidays off work so would like to go somewhere, and have always wanted to visit Norway.
I'm just wondering about the climate at that time of year. I don't mind the temperature, if it is going to be very low. I can just wrap up warm. I may be more put off if there is going to be a high liklihood of heavy rain or snow though. I've looked at a couple of websites, and it doesn't really mention much about precipitation. Do people happen to know if it's likely to rain or snow much then? I realise you don't know the weather forecast in advance, but has much rain/snow fallen at that time of year in previous years?
If Norway is a no-go, suggest somewhere for me to go! Anywhere, as long as it is in Europe and pretty easy and cheap (read: budget airlines) for me to get to from the UK .I'm not really into partying, quite happy to look around museums but mostly just pootle around and look at whatever there is to see. I can walk aimlessly for miles everyday just taking in the sights.
Thanks for any advice.
