my_jamaica.
I will be posting photos and other items of interest as much as I can, about the island. There will be a lot of tourist-inclined entries as well as those to show other aspects of the island, good, bad and ugly. This is just how I see my Jamaica.
The Good:
Jamaica is a really beautiful island, and the majority of the residents are polite and helpful. We might be overly inquisitive and brash, but that's a part of our charm.
The Bad:
Like any other place, there are unscrupulous individuals who will try and fleece a visitor. When visiting, keep your head on your shoulders; it's a good idea to find someone, resident or previous visitor, to tell you snippets of info, such as places to go and price-ranges. I find that littering and pollution are on the rise as well.
The Ugly:
Jamaica has a fairly high crime-rate and there are issues of politically based violence. Also, there is a high rate of homophobia.
