Word: A Journal of Canadian Poetry - Students Submit! [02 Jul 2009|03:26pm]

devindrover
Poetry is one of the most important forms of literary art that has a strong connection with the culture of many people Canada-wide. Beautiful words woven together perfectly with rhyme and rhythm is something that Canadians have a tendancy to do wonderfully - spawning epic works by the likes of EJ Pratt, Margaret Atwood and Robert Finch.

With that being said, it is my pleasure to announce "[Word]: A Journal of Canadian Poetry" - A new, eighty page, softcover anthology due out in Winter 2009 from Engen Books, a new outlet for interested Canadian poets who are looking for a new place for others to embrace their work. Interested? Look around the site at http://www.journalofcanadianpoetry.com and find out all about "[Word]: A Journal of Canadian Poetry".

I maybe looking for student-shared house in the up-comming year, in st.kits. I'm not entirely to sure of the cost range as I've been lucky up to this point to get a freebie place to live.

If anyone could give suggestions as to a respectable price range for a 1 room with internet  (wireless prefered) would cost, I'd be really thrilled.

Selling some college books [06 Apr 2007|04:18pm]

melanna
If you're going into the Journalism-Print program I have 2 books that I'm selling from the program.

The Canadian Press STYLEBOOK. A guide for writing and editing.
The book was used a lot in the first term. It is in good condition. There is maybe one line of highlighter, and the front page is slightly bent in the top right corner.
ORIGINAL PRICE: I actually don't remember how much it costs, but somewhere around $30+

THE CANADIAN REPORTER. News Writing and Reporting
The book is in good condition, there are highlighter markings in the first three chapters though.
ORIGINAL PRICE: 86.75 +tax

PICTURES OF THE BOOKS )

Any offers? I'm looking at a price of around $40-50 dollars, considering I spent over $100 on them.. will haggle, doesn't really matter! Thanks.

Hey there -

I'm trying to unload my 5 BRTF (Broadcasting for Radio, TV & Film) textbooks from last semester for VERY reasonable, student-friendly prices:

I'm selling both mine & my roommate's, so there are 2 books available for each listing.  So if you are (or someone you know is)  going into the program come fall, please check out my listing... Have a peep if you are in need.

Thanks!! :)

Students who smoke pot. [18 Mar 2007|10:55pm]

I'm looking to interview a few students who smoke pot about smoking pot and how it affects you. It would awesome if you could go on the record (that is, you wouldn't mind if I used your real name in the article I'm writing for news@niagara).

If you're interested in being interviewed, you can reply to this post or email me at theinfamousme@hotmail.com

The interview will be conducted online through a series of questions.

Thanks.

Hello there. Are there are film or media students in this community? I'm looking to have my music included in a short/independent film.
I'd love to see what scenes it will suit.
I'd also love to create something for an existing scene.

You can reply here or email me at Sularetal@hotmail.com if interested.

Thanks

okay, so me and some like-minded compadres are going to shake this town up with awesome.

at the end of MARCH we're throwing an art/music jam called "GHOST TOWN PIRATES"

details in the coming days;
if you're down with something that is not Big Bucks with booze and pirate-people drop a line. if you have a band or are an artist or spin or MC or have a freaky talent, if you tattoo or pierce, if you just hate niagara as-is and want something fun to happen, let us know. flyers n' shit will be out soon at local establishments/hang outs. it's non-profit and it will be awesome, that's the only promise.

Business Administration 1st semester books for sale!!! [05 Jan 2007|03:13pm]

plexicon
[ mood | good ]

Hey guys and girls. I have some lightly used textbooks from first semester at the NOTL campus, business administration, if anyone is starting that course this semester & looking to buy for way cheaper than at school. When I bought all my books they added up to $800 and change. Let me spare you from that.

I don't highlight much (but the things I did highlight were handy, and I ended up with an incredible average, so you can trust me). Hah. As far as I know, they are the same texts that are being used for this semester's start.

Texts available for:

  • 1st semester Operations Management

  • 1st semester Marketing

  • 1st semester Accounting (but you'd still have to buy a Lyryx card to log in if you bought this... so you might be better off buying the two-book + Lyryx card bundle.)

Let me save you money! From one poor student to another. Comment and I'll give you more specific info. :)

(I am x-posting this to Niagara Region's community as well)
