Sarah Palin Responds to Roger Ailes Comments

Fox News CEO Roger Ailes raised some eyebrows earlier this week with a comment he made regarding Fox News contributor Sarah Palin. Ailes said “Sarah Palin had no chance to be President,” and that he hired contributors that would bring in viewers, not because they were necessarily strong politicians.

Well, Breitbart.com interviewed Palin, and asked her to respond to Ailes’ remarks.

Interesting. I haven’t heard all of his remarks, but I wonder if he is aware that the same thing was said about me when I ran for city council, mayor, and eventually governor. No doubt many people who are told they can’t do something will work that much harder, and they succeed. Maybe you guys should send him a copy of Steve Bannon’s “The Undefeated.” The theme of Steve’s film isn’t about me, but about the idea of not letting others dictate one’s path in life and never giving up when you’re fighting for something precious like our exceptional nation and our children’s futures. So, would you send a copy of “The Undefeated” to him?

Palin co-hosts a Fox News special this evening called “Paying At the Pump” with Eric Bolling.

Update: Ailes responded today with a clarification to his earlier comments:

“When I hired most of the Republican contributors, none of them had any immediate prospects of becoming President —I wasn’t referring to any of their long-term prospects, including Governor Palin. I hired all of them because they made for good television at the time. Sarah Palin is young and nobody can predict the future.”

Judge in George Zimmerman Case Offers to Recuse Herself over Husband’s Ties to CNN Analyst

A Florida judge offered to recuse herself from the case of George Zimmerman because of her husband’s ties to CNN legal analyst Mark NeJame. NeJame, who’s been hired by CNN to comment on the case, was on the network earlier this afternoon just as a special hearing was about to get underway.

NeJame revealed that the Judge Jessica Recksiedler would likely recuse herself from the case. Anchor Gary Tuchman speculated that it was because “she’s young.”

Instead NeJame revealed, “her husband is my law partner.” Tuchman chuckled as NeJame explained, Judge Recksiedler is “a very ethical, very excellent lawyer and judge,” adding, “So there would not be the appearance of impropriety,” she would likely step aside.

NeJame also revealed he referred Zimmerman to his new attorney Mark O’Mara, who, as TVSpy reports has been a legal analyst on the case for Orlando CBS station WKMG. The Orlando Sentinel reports that at today’s 10-minute hearing, which was called specifically to disclose the connection, that O’Mara is worried about the ties and “he may ask her to give the case to another judge.”

Natalie Morales: ‘My Kid Would Never Do That’ Was ‘A Totally Eye-Opening Experience’

For Natalie Morales, reporting on Dateline’s “My Kid Would Never Do That” hit home on several levels.

“As a parent, it was a totally eye-opening experience and as a journalist, there are so many lessons that we should all be watching and learning from this series,” she tells TVNewser.

The NBC series puts children in a variety of decision-making situations — on topics like stranger safety, driving under the influence, cheating and discrimination — while their parents watch the events unfold via hidden camera. The first installment, which airs Sunday, features Morales’ own son and two of his friends, which she said was “pretty scary to watch.”

“I have these conversations with my kids,” she said. “But it really comes down to how will they do when they’re put to the test.” Read more

Julian Assange Talk Show ‘The World Tomorrow’ To Debut Next Week

As we noted in January, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has been working on his own talk show that will air cable channel RT (formerly Russia Today). Well, Wikileaks has announced that the program, now called “The World Tomorrow,” will debut on Tuesday, April 17.

The show will air on RT, and will also be available online. So far 12 episodes have been shot, with more to come. No word on who any of the guests are, but Wikileaks says it will feature “an eclectic range of guests, who are stamping their mark on the future: politicians, revolutionaries, intellectuals, artists and visionaries.”

The organization says the first guest is “notorious” and “controversial. Who will it be? We will find out next Tuesday. Unless it gets leaked first.

Hilary Rosen is Booked… And Then Not… On NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’

Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen, who apologized to Ann Romney for controversial comments she made on CNN, was booked to appear on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, only to cancel today. In a statement to NBC, Rosen apologized for the cancellation, and explained her decision as such:

“But I have said enough and while I have unfortunately made the Producer’s job tougher today, I don’t have anything more to say… I will instead spend the weekend trying to explain to my kids the value of admitting a mistake and moving on.”

“Meet the Press” rarely gets a cancellation, and when it does, it usually makes news.

The news of the booking… and cancellation, comes after a contentious interview Rosen had with Wolf Blitzer yesterday:
