Star Wars Trailer

darth vader 1977Star Wars directed by George Lucas and starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guinness with James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader. The ubiquitous high end special effects made this mediocre space opera the highest grossing film to date. The film also created a cast of characters that became part of our common culture: Luke Skywaker, Hans Solo, Darth Vader, R2D2, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi and The Force. Star Wars at Wiki.

Winnie the Pooh and Tiger Too 1967

After a ten year lull in animated feature length movies (since The Jungle Book in 1967) Walt Disney Productions enjoyed two successes 1977 which they were not to enjoy again until 1989 with The Little Mermaid. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh consisted of three animated shorts from the late 1960's which held onto the innocent humor of A.A. Milne with Heffalumps and Woozles and the original illustrations by Ernest Shepard. The Rescuers was also a hit 4 years in the making. Winnie the Pooh at Wiki

Also starring Jane Fonda and Meryl Streep. No matter the JDL and it's leader Meir Kahane were indeed violent right-wing extremists in need of a kick in the pants, it is considered bad from to single out Jews for attack at the Oscars.
