Face to Face with Jon Ralston

Sandoval on right track, even if he won’t say what it is
jon ralston:
After an interview with Gov. Sunny last week on “Face to Face,” after listening to the bleating from both sides about whether he meets conservative litmus tests, I realize he is the perfect example of someone who demonstrates just how hollow, even misleading, political labels can be.
Will the past be prologue at state GOP convention?
jon ralston:
As the state Republican Convention looms a week hence, I wonder if it’s possible for a repeat of the 2008 chaos, when state Chairman Sue Lowden and convention boss Bob Beers brought down the house because the Ron Paul folks were about to lock up national delegate slots.
Nevada Republicans light fuse to self-destruction
If I didn’t know better, I’d think there was a Democratic Party plot afoot. Is Prince Harry really this Machiavellian? Could the left wing really manipulate what the right wing is doing?
Sandoval for vice president?
Jon Ralston:
A Freedom of Information Act request produced this transcript from last week.
Reid stands by Berkley, not with NV Energy
Jon Ralston:
Did you ever doubt that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid could utter enough bon mots in a 15-minute interview to fill an entire column?
Shocked, shocked that people had fun in Vegas
Jon Ralston:
So, 3,000 miles away, some important people are going on and on about what a crazy town Vegas can be and Nevada’s elected officials are ... outraged?
A platform that has no support
Jon Ralston:
The natural tension between political party platforms and candidates is that parties generally stand for something and candidates often try to stand for nothing.
Of voter and campaign money numbers
Jon Ralston:
It’s only fitting on a Friday the 13th, where too much is made of the number, that your Friday Flash is all about the significance of numbers.
Senators’ public spat can’t be won by Reid
Jon Ralston:
Harry Reid doesn’t lose very often.
Lawyers take character assassination to high court
Jon Ralston:
I wish this were an April Fool’s joke. It’s not.
Adelson’s riff, Reid’s flexibility and Sanson’s embarrassment
Jon Ralston:
Gondolier Numero Uno Sheldon Adelson says Newt is sinking faster than Venice, Meddler-in-Chief Harry Reid pays back Byron Georgiou for obeying him, and a phony special interest exposes itself (twice) — here’s your Friday Flash.
Some things you can’t take off the table
Jon Ralston:
In one short television appearance, state Sen. Greg Brower illuminated just how drenched in politics and how bereft of substance the debate over taxes continues to be in Nevada.
Ethics issue arises again in U.S. Senate race
Jon Ralston:
If it’s always darkest before the dawn, Rep. Shelley Berkley must be wondering when the sun is ever going to come up.
A new GOP chair, Sandy money and Lorne’s departure
Jon Ralston:
The GOP self-destruction machine revs up again, a look at the Adelson money for Newt and a farewell to a good man.
Governor sucks air out of tax discussion
Jon Ralston:
Brian Sandoval 2.0 already is resetting the campaign agenda for 2012, and, perhaps, the tax debate for 2013.
