The latest cyber security bill - called CISPA - has passed the House of Representatives, coming a step closer to becoming law. President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the act, if it goes through in the Senate. He cited civil liberty concerns as the reason for his threat. CISPA has raised a massive outcry with internet users and freedom activists, who say it's a hard hit on people's privacy. Reaction now from Dr Richard Stallman, who's President of the Free Software Foundation. He's in Tunis.

He admits Ahmadinejad was misquoted, and that he never said Israel must be wiped off the map. The war agenda is abetted by mass media not reporting that U.S. & Israeli threats to attack Iran are illegal and that attacking Iran, as they threaten to do, would be a war crime. Israel's deputy Prime Minister admits Ahmadinejad was misquoted, and that he never said Israel must be wiped off the map. Ahmadinejad actually suggested democracy as the solution: "the solution is democracy." Deputy Prime Minister Meridor made this rare admission in an interview with Al-Jazeera. As we know, Ahmadinejad didn't say that he plans to exterminate Israel, nor did he say that Iran policy is to exterminate Israel. They've said this as many times as Ahmadinejad has criticized Israel, he has said as many times that he has no plans to attack Israel. He simply said that if you hold a referendum in this part of the world with everybody who lives here, he will accept the outcome of that referendum. I think that the Israeli government is a fabricated government and I have talked about the solution. The solution is democracy. We have said allow Palestinian people to participate in a free and fair referendum to express their views. I believe that the American government is blindly supporting this government of occupation. It should lift its support, allow the people to participate in free and fair elections. Whatever happens let it be. We will accept and go along. Deputy Prime Minister Dan Meridor finally admits what I have been saying for years in videos like: "Ahmadinejad DID NOT threaten to "wipe Israel off the map."" Blind Chinese activist escapes house arrest

Supporters of a blind Chinese human rights activist say he is hiding in Beijing after escaping from house arrest earlier this week.

Chen Guangcheng had been held under guard in his house in Shandong province since he was released from prison in September 2010.

He had then served four years in prison for exposing forced abortions and sterilisations in his rural community.

Al Jazeera's Tarek Bazley reports.

Activists say a blind Chinese lawyer who'd been under house arrest has now fled to a safe hiding place in Beijing. Chen Guangcheng's escape has apparently triggered a frantic search by authorities. (April 27)

Thursday, April 26th, the United States House, in a rushed vote, passed the HR 3523, also known as CISPA.

Dubbed the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, it allows the United States to collect information about users of the internet. It allows the United States to monitor all activity on the net and can be used to monitor any individual's internet usage. This monitoring is called deep packet inspection, it looks through everything that is going in and out of your computer, which is a blatant violation of our rights to privacy.
Looking through your mail is a crime for a postman, these rules should apply to the internet too.

The bill's intent is to help stop cyber attacks... However; the vague wording of the bill could allow the government to use this new power to go behind privacy protection and monitor, censor, and cut off online communication.

President Obama has already stated that he will veto the bill, but this is also what was said about NDAA.

Together, we can stop this act. The time to take action is now. We have defeated previous attempts to censor our only platform of true honest communication, the internet. SOPA was only the beginning.

Sign petitions, call your congressmen, and kill this act in the senate.

Its day three for Bradley Manning's pre-trial hearings at Fort Meade in Maryland. This morning military judge Denise Lind denied more defense motions to drop or combine charges. But later today, Lind ruled against the defense motion to drop charges of "aiding the enemy."

JFK Truthers Banned From Daley Plaza for 50th Anniversary: Jim Marrs Reports

On Nov. 22, 2013, Dealey Plaza is expected to swarm with television cameras.

For the past few months, officials at the adjacent Sixth Floor Museum have been quietly at work, trying to ensure that what those cameras capture won't embarrass the city.

For one thing, they have been conducting a campaign to raise $2.2 million to complete the restoration of Dealey Plaza in time for the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination.

And to avoid the carnival atmosphere that has often prevailed at previous anniversaries on the plaza, museum officials are planning to take over commemoration activities there.

"We have reserved Dealey Plaza for that date," said Nicola Longford, the museum's executive director. "I think, for the 50th anniversary, we have an opportunity to offer a dignified, appropriate event for the city of Dallas."

That has not always been the case.

Many people assume the annual gatherings at the plaza — which have attracted hundreds and, in some years, thousands of spectators — have had some official sanction. But the museum's decision actually reverses a hands-off policy by both the museum and the city of Dallas that has lasted decades.

Only once before, when the plaza was dedicated as a National Historic Landmark district in 1993, has there been an official ceremony commemorating the assassination.

Museum and city officials have said in the past that by avoiding such events, they were honoring the Kennedy family's wishes that the anniversary receive no official recognition in Dallas.

In the organizational vacuum that resulted, ordinary people who came to the plaza to quietly honor the slain president found activities there often dominated by conspiracy theorists, performance artists and assorted publicity-seekers.

Critics charged that on what should be a solemn day, a circus atmosphere has sometimes prevailed on the plaza.
