Ex Cathedra

I don’t own one.  It’s more than the probability I’d burn the house down if I fired it up. They’re conservative. Maybe libertarian.

A person with a private generator has one less connection to the common welfare.

It’s part of the centrifugal impulse that is at war with civilization. In case you haven’t noticed, civilization isn’t doing too good in that war.

The meaning of owning your own generator is breaking ties to your community and abandoning your neighbors. Just like moving onto a farm.

In the sticks, no one can hear you scream.

As soon as humans learned to speak, we’ve used language to try to control other people.

The Left has a few phrases whose purpose is to constructively construe reality: “marriage equality” is a good recent example.

The Right apparently speaks in little else:

• Homosexual lifestyle
• Forced busing
• Union thugs
• Welfare queens
• Job creators

Our responsibility isn’t to purify control phrases out of the language. That’s stupid because it’s futile.

Our responsibility is to figure out whether the intention behind those control phrases is for good or for evil.
