One Million Moms disappears from Facebook
(The New Civil Rights Movement) The faux activist group One Million Moms has just disappeared from Facebook, by far its largest social media outlet. Earlier today administrators of the One Million Moms Facebook site posted a “warning” about Green Lantern being rebooted as gay, which they quickly pulled when over one hundred pro-gay comments flooded the post. Subsequently, they wrote a Facebook post stating they would be away for a week, possibly next week, for bible camp. Then, sometime on the past two hours, the One Million Moms Facebook page disappeared.
Poll: Missouri African Americans Make Huge Shift Toward Marriage Equality
(Think Progress) A new Public Policy Polling poll finds that African-American voters in Missouri have shifted drastically on the question of same-sex marriage since they were last polled in January. They now support marriage equality 50-31, whereas before opposition was much stronger at 25-44, a 38 point shift.
Clinton on Romney record praise: My words were twisted
(Politico) "I said, you know, Governor Romney had a good career in business and he was a governor, so he crosses the qualification threshold for him being president," Clinton said. "But he shouldn't be elected, because he is wrong on the economy and all these other issues.
"So today, because I didn't attack him personally and bash him, I wake up to read all these stories taking it out of context as if I had virtually endorsed him, which means the tea party has already won their first great victory: 'We are supposed to hate each to disagree.' That is wrong."
Elections Officials Throughout Florida Refuse To Use Rick Scott’s Inaccurate Lists To Purge Voters
(Think Progress) On Wednesday, Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor Susan Bucher (D) told ThinkProgress her office has rejected the error-ridden list of alleged non-citizen voters sent to county officials by Gov. Rick Scott’s (R-FL) administration. Now, as the Department of Justice has told Florida to stop its illegal purge, other county elections officials across Florida have confirmed their counties will not comply with the state’s effort...
Krugman is getting close to the edge
He does a great job of keeping it together, but the ongoing process has been interesting to watch. Three years ago Krugman still thought that some right-wing economists and economic commentators were fellow devotees of the same discipline who were simply under-informed. But more and more he has learned the hard-way that these people are not academics, they are all just professional obfuscators and goal-post movers in the employ of the Borg.
Bill Clinton touched me today.
His left hand hugged my right hand just after I took this. It was cool. The end.
